Pesticide Residues in Food Monitoring Programme Results September 2015 – Beans with Pods Please find enclosed results for Beans with Pods samples collected in September 2015.
• 1 sample from Bangladesh contained residues of dimethoate at 0.17 mg/kg (MRL = 0.02*) and fenpropathrin at 0.02 mg/kg (MRL = 0.01*), which are both above the MRL. The risk assessment screen identified that none of the residues detected by the laboratory would be expected to have an effect on health.
• 1 sample from Malaysia contained residues of chlorfenapyr at 0.2 mg/kg (MRL = 0.01*) and dithiocarbamates at 1.1 mg/kg (MRL = 1), which are both
above the MRL. The risk assessment screen identified that none of the residues detected by the laboratory would be expected to have an effect on health.
• 1 sample from Malaysia contained residues of chlorfenapyr at 0.4 mg/kg (MRL = 0.01*) and dithiocarbamates at 1.5 mg/kg (MRL = 1), which are both
above the MRL. The risk assessment screen identified that none of the residues detected by the laboratory would be expected to have an effect on health.

* Maximum Residue Levels set at the LOD (LOD MRL): These MRLs are set at a default level, i.e. at the limit of determination (LOD) where analytical methods can reasonably detect the presence of the pesticide. Either insufficient trials data are available on which to set a maximum residue level or there may be no use of the pesticide on that crop in the EU. However they may be permitted elsewhere.
