What is GSCE PE…..

• In simple terms

• Theory = 40% (2,1hour papers)

• Practical = 60% (4 activities)

Year 10

• An Introduction to Physical Education.Exam = 1 hour - 60 marks, 15 are multiple choice!!!

• Practical Performances & Developing Fitness.Controlled Assessment = 60 marks

(Two PE Lessons Per Week – One Theory/One Practical)

•Two practical performances

•Analying lifestyles task.

•Coaching & officiating available.

Year 11

• Developing Knowledge in Physical Education.Exam = 1 hour - 60 marks, 15 are multiple choice!!!

• Practical Performances & Developing Skill.Controlled Assessment = 60 marks

Activity Weekend

As part of the expedition training, an activity weekend is run for all students involved in the award scheme. It is also open to GCSE PE students as part of their Outdoor Education module.

The weekend takes place in September, and places are limited. Full details will be in the application letter for the award scheme or available from Miss Clatworthy.
