• What mattered to women was they wanted their partners to stay with them after the birth of their baby.

• What mattered to staff was having built up a relationship they did not want to send them home.

• The room was too hot seagulls outside were very noisy in the night.

• Fathers should be allowed to stay instead of leaving at 10.

Person centred visiting

• An information sheet about person centred visiting has been developed which includes partners staying over. This is issued in the antenatal period.
