Personal Defence Weapon Ammunition (PDW), Calibre 4.6x30
The calibre 4.6x30 has been tailored to meet unique requirements
for Police and Military Special Forces, combat-support soldiers and
close personal protection.
RUAG 4.6x30 ammunition provides a better range, accuracy
and armour-penetrating capability than traditional pistol-calibre
cartridges. The compact size of the round increases the
ammunition capacity of the weapons, while the light weight
reduces both the recoil and the load borne by the user. Precise
and powerful, the 4.6x30 can penetrate both protected and
unprotected targets at a greater distance effectively and accura-
tely.
The close cooperation between the weapons manufacturer
Heckler & Koch and RUAG Ammotec provides a system with
a perfect functioning weapon, compatibility without compromise
and the highest possible safety.MP7 A1 by Heckler & Koch

RUAG Ammotec stands for state-of-the-art ammunition tech-
nology, highest precision and absolute functional reliability. It
develops and produces high-performance, small calibre standard
and special ammunition for the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement
Authorities and the civilian market, as well as customer-specific
components for the industry.
RUAG Ammotec emerged as an international company in spring
2002 following the merging of the small-calibre activities of
the Swiss company RUAG and the German company Dynamit
Nobel. This created one of the world’s leading ammunition manu-
facturers. RUAG Ammotec has production plants in Switzerland,
Germany, Sweden, Hungary and the USA, and subsidiary sales
and distribution companies in Belgium, France, Great Britain and
Austria.
RUAG: a reliable partner since 1863
A pioneering spirit and innovation characterise the history of
RUAG Ammotec. The original company began manufacturing
ammunition for the military and police forces 150 years ago. It
has also manufactured top brand ammunition for hunters and
sports shooters for many years.
RUAG Ammotec strives to maintain and further expand its
recognised position on the international market. By continually
developing its products, it meets the high standards, requirements
and expectations of its customers and will be an innovative and
reliable partner in the future.
The Right Cartridge for Every Situation
FMJ SX - General duty ammunition
The FMJ SX combines a good energy trans-
fer in soft targets (maximum penetration in
uncovered gelatine < 35 cm) with excep-
tional precision up to 200m. It has been
used by armies and Special Forces units
around the world.
ACTION SX - Optimal stopping power
for soft targets
The ACTION SX deformation bullet offers
fast energy deposit in soft targets (maxi-
mum penetration in uncovered gelatine
< 30 cm) and a good penetration capabi-
lity in hard and combined targets such as
car doors or body armour. It is completely
lead-free.
AP SX - High penetration on hard
targets
This lead-free cartridge combines an ex-
ceptional penetration capability with
good energy transfer in soft targets. The
bullet penetrates the NATO CRISAT target
(1.6 mm titanium plate supplemented by
20 layers of Kevlar) from distances up to
200m.
Frangible SX - No ricochet in training
Frangible ammunition is specially desi-
gned to provide a realistic tactical trai-
ning for CQB and MOUT. Instant frag-
mentation upon impact means shooters
can engage targets at closer range
without risking being hit by backsplashes
or ricochets. The cartridge is completely
lead-free.
Training SX - Reduced risk of ricochet
in training and service
The Training SX with lead-free semi-jacke-
ted tin-bullet guarantees high precision
and low ricochet tendency and is “target-
friendly” to shooting range facilities. It can
even be used as service ammunition in
sensitive areas (e. g. ships, power plants)
at close range.
Drill – Instruction of firearm handling
Risk-free practicing of the firearm handling
with inert cartridges.
Blank SX – No risk training
Blank cartridges enable realistic simulation
with the service weapon equipped with
the blank firing attachment.

The most important point for choosing a primer is its reliability.
RUAG has addressed this issue since 1928 with the invention of
the most reliable, corrosion-free SINOXID-primer.
However standard primers contain lead styphenate, which shoo-
ters can get exposed to during the firing process. This may lead to
hazardous overexposure.
