Background and activities Pusat Jagaan Asrama Yayasan Saad

Pusat Jagaan Asrama Yayasan Saad is a non-profitable organization specially established to look into the needs of approximately 40 children without a safe and caring home. Most of children are orpahane and from poverty stricken homes. The children age from 1 untill 17.

The organization believe that education is one of the way to solve poverty and develop a country. Pusat Jagaan Asrama Yayasan Saad focus on creating the awareness of the important of education for the children without care about family background, gender, colour and age.

Objectives and daily activities Exchange Participant

In addition of the education the children receive at their regular school, Pusat Jagaan Asrama Yayasan Saad want to provide their children with additional education and care. EPs are required to design English lesson in very creative way for 40 children. Eps will teach the children about the culture of own country. (eg: cooking, art and craft, music) The classes will be given in the late afternoon after the regular schooling. The morning is free and the early afternoon will be used to prepare the classes.

Furthermore, the EPs are expected to organize activities which stimulate cultural understanding, social skills, and motor skills. Beside of working, the EPs will spend their time with the children at the NGO.

Timeline of the project

• The project is available from June until December

• The project is last for 6 weeks • EPs will only need to work during

every weekday afternoon, but will spend time with the kids other than working time

• Saturday and Sunday is non-working days

Accomodation

• At the NGO together with the kids (Jalan Sekolah Derma, 01000 Kangar, Perlis)

• EPs will be staying at the NGOs, together with the family of the founder and the childrens.
