P P E E R R F F E E C C T T I I O O N N ! ! It had to happen. Eventually, someone had to present a car in the concours that was flawless. That happened at SAAC-36. Bob Dockery’s GT350 R-Model, 5R100 had re- ceived a Premiere award at SAAC-31 at VIR in 2006. SAAC’s concours rules specify that once a Premiere award is given, a car has to be withdrawn from competition for four years (during which it is encouraged to be displayed at conventions). In 2006, five minor cosmetic deficiencies were noted on the car’s judging sheet and all were rectified before it was brought to VIR to be judged in 2011. Within this context of SAAC’s judging criteria, 5R100 is probably as close to perfection as a car can come. We salute Bob Dockery and also the restoration shop of Peter Klutt, Legendary Motorcar Ltd. in Canada. They have es- tablished a very high bar for everyone else.
