Cuando yo era pequeña, mi maestra nos

explicó los problemas de las ciudades.

Nos habló del tráfico, la contaminación, la

tala de árboles y la falta de agua…

…y me puse triste, como estás tú hoy, Camila…

When I was a little girl, my teacher talked to the class

about problems in the cities. She talked about traffic,

pollution, deforestation and water shortage…

…And that made me feel sad, as you feel now, Camila…

Me impresionó tanto lo que dijo la maestra, que al volver a

I was so impressed by the things my teacher

told me that as I returned home I saw the

road full of threatening monsters…

Los monstruos de la ciudad tampoco me dejaron tranquila

cuando llegué a casa… Mi maestra decía que sólo podían

ser vencidos por unos señores con nombres raros:

“Ingeniero Hidroeléctrico”; “Urbanista”; “Demógrafo”;

o “Economista”, gente que yo no conocía…

City monsters did not leave me alone when I got home… My

teacher said city monsters could only be vanquished by

some men who had all sorts of weird names, such as

Hydroelectrical Engineer, Urban Planner, Demographer

or Economist. And I did not know any of these people…

即使到了家,这些城市的怪物也不让我安宁… 老师说这些

怪物只有一些有着奇怪称呼的大人, 比如：水电工

程师, 城市规划学者, 人口统计学者, 或经济

学家才能战胜, 都是些我不认识的人…


Aquella noche mi mamá me contó un secreto y me regaló

una cinta roja muy especial, que colgué en la cabecera

de la cama… Dormí muy bien, porque las almohadas y

las estrellas siempre dan buenos consejos, Camila.

That night my mom told me a secret and gave me a very

special red ribbon, and I hung the ribbon at the

headboard… I slept nicely that night, because pillows and

stars always give you good pieces of advice, Camila.

那一夜,妈妈告诉了我一个秘密并送了一条很特别的

红丝带给我.

…A la mañana siguiente, me levanté con grandes

ideas y muy feliz, me puse la cinta roja y

salí a la calle a buscar a mis amigos…

And the next morning, I woke up with great ideas

and I was feeling very happy. I put on my red

ribbon, and went out to look for my friends…

Busqué a mi amiga Clara. Al llegar a su casa, me reconfortó oler el perfume

de las flores que crecen en su jardín… El perfume y los colores de esas

flores, Camila, eran capaces de ahuyentar a cualquier monstruo.

I wanted to see my friend Clara. When I arrived at her home, the perfume

of flowers growing in her garden made me feel better… Camila, the

scent and colors of these flowers could scare any monsters away.

When I told Clara what was happening in our city, she

picked up a beautiful red flower, grabbed one

end of my red ribbon, and we ran out of there…

Cuando le conté lo que pasaba en nuestra

ciudad, Clara tomó una bella flor roja

y agarrando un extremo de mi cinta

roja, salimos corriendo de allí…

当我把我们城市所发生的告诉了她后, 克莱拉摘了一朵美丽的红花, 牵住

了我的红丝带的另一头,和我一起跑了出来…


Corrimos a encontrarnos con Juancho, que tocaba su flauta

de madera acompañado por los pájaros del bosque… Al

verlo, le contamos las cosas que pasaban en nuestra

ciudad, y Juancho tomó su flauta, porque no había

ningún monstruo capaz de resistir su sonido alegre,

y tomando mi cinta roja, salimos corriendo de allí.

We kept running and then met with Juancho, who was

playing his wooden flute, accompanied by the birds

in the forest… When we told him the things that were

happening in our city, Juancho took his flute, because

no monster could resist the cheerful sound of his flute.

He grabbed my red ribbon, and we ran out of there.

我们跑着跑着遇到了胡安乔, 他在森林里小鸟陪

伴下, 吹着木笛. 见到他后,我们给他讲了我们

城市所发生的事. 胡安乔拿起了他的笛子--因

Al cruzar la esquina nos encontramos con Pepe y Tata. Tata trataba de arrancar una fruta

de un árbol y Pepe la ayudaba para que pudiera alcanzarla. Les contamos a coro las

cosas que pasaban en nuestra ciudad, y convencidos de que juntos podían vencer

a cualquier monstruo, ellos también se agarraron de mi cinta roja para salir

todos juntos de allí…

Around the corner, we met with Pepe and Tata. Tata was trying

to pick up a fruit from a tree and Pepe was helping her

reach for it. Speaking all together, we told them about the

things that were happening in our city. With the conviction

that if united they could vanquish any monsters, they also

grabbed my red ribbon, and we all ran out of there…

在穿过街角的时候, 我们遇到了 “贝贝和塔塔”. 塔塔正想从树上采摘一

枚水果, 而贝贝在帮她去够着. 我们齐声告诉了他们我们城市所发生的

Por último encontramos a Mario jugando con su molinete rojo, que aleja las

tristezas y reparte buenos deseos con la fuerza del viento… Le contamos

las cosas que pasaban en nuestra ciudad, y Mario cogió un pedazo de mi

cinta y puso a girar su molinete… Continuamos juntos nuestro camino.

Last, we find Mario playing with his red pinwheel, which

drives grief away and spreads good wishes on

the air… We told him about the things that were

happening in our city, and Mario grabbed a

small piece of my red ribbon and reeled and

spun his pinwheel… and we all moved on.

最后, 我们遇到了马里奥, 他正在玩他那个能吹散悲伤并将美好愿望随风

Finalmente llegamos a la Escuela, y entramos al salón de clases. Entonces le dije a mi maestra:

“Ayer quedé muy preocupada con lo que usted dijo. Decidí que debíamos

“Yesterday, the things you said made me feel very

bad, and I decided that we must help overcome the

monsters threatening our city. So today, I came with

my friends, because I think we can help a lot.“

“Traje a Juancho, que con su música nos alegra a todos.”

“I brought Juancho, whose music makes us happy.”

“Traje a Clara, ella cuida sus flores y por eso crecen y nos regalan su perfume y sus colores.”

“I brought Clara, because she takes good care of her flowers, and her

flowers grow up nicely and give us their perfume and colors.”

de buenos deseos.”

drive sorrow away and fill us with good wishes.”

“Traje mi cinta roja porque me ayudó a descubrir que los señores con nombres

raros, (los arquitectos, los ingenieros) no vencen a los monstruos de las

ciudades, sino que somos nosotros juntos los que podemos soñar con lograr

una mejor vida para tener una mejor ciudad.”

“I brought my red ribbon because it helped me understand

that the men with weird names (architects, engineers)

do not vanquish the monsters of the cities,

but rather we all together can dream of

a better life to have a better city.“
