Pekkaniska is the most reliable partner when installing wind power systems

The use of wind power is increasing rapidly due to increasing interest in environmental issues and demand for greener, environmentally friendly energy. Modern wind power parks are being set up, and windmills being installed to generate electrical energy. The development of ever more powerful wind power systems is continuing and the height of towers on which the systems are mounted is increasing. Pekkaniska is meeting these challenges with its Liebherr cranes with an optimised performance and new jib systems designed to meet the needs of wind power industry. Most modern fleet, competent staff and high quality of work are Pekkaniska’s trademarks which have ensured us a leading position in heavy lifting in Scandinavia, Russia and the Baltics.

LIEBHERR LG 1750The LG 1750 is a 750 ton lattice boom crane with an 8-axle chassis, cruciform support and a variable boom system. It is designed as a heavy duty crane for versatile operational conditions.

LG 1750 is the most versatile crane for wind power installations. It is extremely fast to move from one turbine to another.

LG 1750 lattice-boom mobile crane combines the flexibility of a 750-tonne crawler crane with the mobility of a fast-moving truck crane from the same load category. Four extremely rigid, folding arms of generous size make up the starpattern supports which have a base area of 16 x 16 m. Crane can also be used in 12 x 12 m mode in limited surroundings.

This crane can be equipped with a longer boom system without having to use a derrick system for boom erection.

LIEBHERR LTM 1500-8.1The eight-axle LTM 1500-8.1 is equipped with a 7-section, 84 m telescopic boom. The lifting capacities are increased considerably due to the jib-suspension. The lattice jib, reaching lengths of up to 91 m, extends the operating range of the 500-tonner to 145 m hoisting height and 108 m reach.

LTM 1500-8.1 is the standard crane for the erection of wind power systems of the 1,5 MW class on towers up to more than 80 m high. It is especially handy when erecting concrete towers.

LTM 1500-8.1 has a multivariable boom system. The 50 m long telescopic boom can be extended to 84 m using only three additional telescopic sections.

LIEBHERR LTM 1400-7.1The seven-axle mobile crane LTM 1400-7.1 is the most compact representative of its class, and extraordinarily manoeuvrable due to the new active rear axle steering. Comprehensive electronics in the travel drive and in the crane control ensures increased safety, easy-to-use operation and a high availability of the 400 tonner. Hoisting heights of up to 122 m and a reach of up to 92 m characterise the range of applications.

The LTM 1400-7.1 is the optimum mobile crane for installationof 1 MW class wind power systems on towers up to approximately 70 m high. Smaller systems can be mounted on correspondingly higher towers.

The LTM 1400-7.1 is the most compact crane in its class. This makes it perfectly suitable for the erection of wind power systems in mountain and coastal regions.

LIEBHERR LR 11350

CRAWLER CRANES

When traditional cranes are not high or heavy enough, you‘ll need LR11350.

The LR 11350 sets standards in the class for cranes capable of lifting over 1000 tonnes. It offers outstanding lifting capacities in all applications. The design principle enables economical and straightforward transportation of the crane components and rapid set-up. The diesel engine, hydraulics, electrics and crane cab are transported as a complete unit. A wide range of boom systems mean that the LR 11350 is highly versatile with or without a derrick system. Its performance is complemented by excellent safety standards and a high level of operating convenience.

The 1,350 t crawler crane has an overall system length of 228 m, which requires the combination of main jib and luffing fly jib each114 m in length. This provides a maximum height under hook of 223 m. Because of the conventional A-frame design principle, the LR 11350 can, when mechanical outriggers are used, achieve main boom system lengths of up to 102 m without the need for derricking. With derricking, main boom lengths are up to 150 m.

LIEBHERR LR 1750The crawler crane LR 1750 is perfectly suited for applications in power stations, refineries, bridge construction sites and the assembly of wind power plants. The 750-t machine can be uni-versally applied due to its 140 m main boom, 105 m luffing fly-jib, 21 m assembly jib and derrick attachment, as well as 400 t suspended counterweight or ballast trailer. Compact dimensions of the crane components and moderate individual weights allow a highly economic transport of the crane to the building site. The 750 ton crane can also be operated as a “Pedestal Crane” with outrigger supports, featuring a support base of 13 x 13 m. Lifting capacities can thus be increased by up to 370%.

Pekkaniska’s LR1750 fleet is also equipped with 6 meter long HS boom head, especially used in wind power installations.

LIEBHERR LR 1600/2-WNarrow track

The LR 1600/2-W, narrow track, with its slim crawler travel gear, is ideally designed for operations in wind parks, being able to move fully equipped on the tracks between the installation locations of the individual wind power systems. The crane is supported for carrying out lifting work.

This machine needs only 6 m wide roads for crawling between turbines.

Pekkaniska’s LR1600 fleet is also equipped with normal tracks for more traditional lifting works.

LIEBHERR LR 1350/1The crawler crane LR 1350/1 features state-of-the-art drive and control technology, light in weight boom systems with high lifting capacities, cost-effective upgrading and transport logistics and is perfectly adapted for easy transport. The operational spectrum is characterised through 120 m hook height with main boom, 150 m working height with fly-jib and up to 104 m overall reach. A significant increase in lifting capacity is realised for the 350-t machiner through Derrick boom and ballast trailer.

With Liebherr’s new reinforced S3HS boom system this crane can assemble most of the 2-2,5 MW class turbines up to 100 m towers. In this turbine class, LR 1350/1 is the most cost effective crane.

With the extremely compact dimensions of the basic unit and a minimum transport weight of 40 t without winches the basic machine can move anywhere in the world without restrictions and can be self-erected using optimum accessories.

Due to their high level of mobility and excellent performance the wide range of possible applications starts with the common lifting and assembly jobs and ends with smaller clamshell and dragline applications. The Liebherr crawler cranes come up with outstanding advantages like superior load charts in most configurations, variety of possible configurations, quick and easy assembly, practical and cost-effective transportation, state of the art electronic system (based on CANBUS technology) including most modern power train management, online calculation of the maximum working load, high safety through redundant safety systems and high quality trough many proven specifications inherited from strong duty cycle crawler cranes. To further enhance the load capacities of the LR 1300 also a derrick system as well as a suspended counterweight is available.

The 300-tonne narrow-track crawler crane for wind-power farms. It has a 4.8 m wide crawler chassis and can be driven on the site roads in the narrow crawler mode. This narrow-track version complies with the need for efficient lifting devices to construct wind-driven turbines at wind-power farms.

Pekkaniska’s crane is offered with special wind power boom (SX). Crane can be equipped with 8 m fixed jib for wind power applications. This is very cost effective and fast crane. LR1300 has also derrick system and suspended ballast for heavy lifting.
