There are no difficult things.
We would like to try a student exchange project with just those named Tanaka and Suzuki. You are

and/or with kids, get together!”This time, 5 international students joined us. We each talked about how they have been coping with their troubles in the first half of the event, and we also gave some thoughts to “stress” using some psychology theories in a lecture form in the second half.I thought the majority of the troubles seemed to
be related to “being at home by themselves/(not) connecting with others”. It was stimulating for us the organizers that despite all that, there are many participants who have tried to face themselves and others and to take the time out to draw, read, practice yoga, and talk with friends, etc. A big thank you to those who participated. The material used in the lecture part will be uploaded onto the HP of the Health and Counseling Center. Please make the most of it if you get a chance. (Tanaka)
At this second Peer Salon, 4 students participated. They were those who had regularly been experiencing trial and error in attempting to balance their studies, home life, and child-rearing even pre-corona. It was somewhat striking that, especially in these days with COVID-19, they brought up difficulties in switching the roles between the “student” self and “parent” self in situations where they need to juggle their studies/research, housework, and taking care of the children at home. At the same time, there were also some “aha!” moments even for the facilitator that include some stories of ways of coping and creative ideas. Such an opportunity where you can freely chit-chat in a relaxed atmosphere is a strength of this “Peer Leisurely Salon”. Some participants said to us, “Just talking with one another has made me feel better," and I came to wish, even more than before, to continue to provide this kind of places and opportunities. (Kuriyama)
What is “Peer-Tomo*”(Peer Consultation)?
◆At the Health and Counseling Support Center’s Counseling and Support Division, we, “Peer-Tomo,” offer individual
consultations on all aspects of student life. Our counselors major in clinical psychology at our Graduate School of
Human Sciences. They are graduate students themselves acting as your peer advisors(counselors) along with
instructors.
◆We handle various student life issues related to, not only school work, academic path, interpersonal relationship
worries, etc., but also cult organizations, consumer troubles, student group activities, financial troubles, and so on.
◆We also hold monthly “Peer Station Café” events where you can interact with fellow students through the sharing of
common experiences. It provides a place where fellow students can interact with each other through sharing an
