Peak Horizon offers International Summer Camps for young people all over the world, focusing on language, sport, activity and business themed courses. Our People Welcome to Peak Horizon! Having lived and breathed the Alps for the last 13 years I know that this alpine environment is a gift that we should all enjoy and experience. Waking to the view across the peaks of the mountains or walking on the banks of an alpine river, it’s simply inspiring. Our Peak Leader Team’s aim is simply to ensure that you leave our camps having maximised and enjoyed every minute of your time with us – be it for sports, language tuition or thrilling activities. Pastoral CareOur Peak Leaders (PLs) are trained in first aid and attain the standard of Brevet d’Aptitude aux Fonctions d’Animateur (BAFA) or other EU equivalent qualifications, for their responsibility in youth leadership and of taking charge of the teens throughout the day and during the night. Our Peak Leaders ensure that they remain safe and sound while gaining the maximum amount of enjoyment from everything we offer. One Peak Leader is assigned to every eight children in-line with the local regulations.

Turn your computers off and come and learn a new language in our outdoor classroom! Our Peak Horizon language courses provide young people, aged 10 to 17, with 15 hours of English or French tuition per week. These camps are endorsed by the TUI Language portfolio and include a full programme of activities, sports, local visits and excursions. We use interactive techniques and project work to immerse our participants in their chosen language. We have three levels of tuition – beginner, intermediate and advanced in both French and English, to cater for all abilities.

Our Teachers and Facilities• Our English language

teachers are CELTA/DELTA certified, which is the highest qualification available in English language teaching.

• Our French teachers are Français Langue Étrangère (FLE) or equivalent qualified.

• Our teacher/pupil ratio is maximum 1/15 during a class.

• Our tutors provide the campers with guided practice in listening and speaking English/French via a variety of interactive tasks and projects.

• Although our classroom facilities are all state of the art and provide a good learning environment we try to take the language campers out and about to provide a fun interactive learning atmosphere.

Association/AccreditationAll of our language courses are endorsed by the TUI Language portfolio’s EAC and ELC businesses. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of the hours they studied and the tasks they accomplished.

Educational AimsOur language courses focus on communication skills via real-life tasks and interactive project work outside the classroom. For example, the assignments of the language campers will include local shop visits, nature rambles and cooking lessons in French or English.

Learn about organic farming to become informed consumers and make better choices that benefit the environment.

Shoot hoops to pass the summer holidays! Our Sport Camps provide our international aspiring athletes, aged 10 to 17, with training and skill development sessions in basketball. To enhance the experience of our participants we have partnered up with prestigious teams/organisations to provide our sport tuition. For our basketball camps we are delighted to have partnered with the NBA, who will provide three days of intensive coaching within each Peak Horizon basketball camp.

Whether they are a beginner, intermediate or advanced player, our participating athletes will be trained by the best and utilise the world-class sporting facilities available. We split our teens into three age groups 10-12/13-15/16-17 to provide balanced challenges during the drills and games.

Our Sport Camps provide the opportunity to meet and play sports with others from all over the world away from the distractions of television and video games.


Our Coaches and Facilities • The programme is led by experienced

instructors and coaches, some of which have been professional players themselves. We have many different partnerships and accreditations, with fully qualified coaches.

• Our coaches will help you become a better athlete while having the time of your life as you gain new skills and make new friends.

Association/Accreditation Our Sport Camps are conducted in-line with local regulations and in association with recognised sport organisations. The NBA (National Basketball Association) is the official partner for our Basketball Camps. For more information about the NBA go to NBA.com.

Educational Aims Our aim is to inspire and motivate children of all abilities and focus on teaching individual skills and the importance of teamwork. This will help our participants to grow both as people and as basketball or football players. We also educate and give advice on nutrition, game tactics and fitness during the Sport Camps. Participants will be asked to keep a sports diary to monitor their progress and improvements while they are with us.

• Basketball Skills Developed: Our young athletes will be able to play against other basketball enthusiasts and improve their dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, individual and team defense, and understanding team offense.

Other Cool Activities We organise daily tournaments and competitions for the sport campers and offer the opportunity to try out new and adventurous sports such as rafting and archery. We also take field trips to historical French cities.

Our Basketball Camps are endorsed by the NBA and will all include three days of coaching, drills and games from an NBA qualified coach to further enhance the experience and knowledge of our participants.

Tuesday – Today I learnt to shoot some hoops from long range, some of them went in, excellent!

Wednesday – Tried snails and frog’s legs today and loved them.

Thursday – Had a match against a local school and we won. The training is obviously working.

Friday – Visited Chamonix today.

Saturday – Really enjoyed the gala dinner, so many cool people I’ve got to know. I will add them all on Facebook and will keep in touch.

Sunday – Time to go home but I have had a great time and made so many new friends.

Fun-packed, action-filled activity camps to make this summer unforgettable! Our activity camps offer a wide range of activities from sports to arts & crafts, on water, on land and in the air for our participants aged 10 to 17. Our activity camps enable young people to try out new activities and sports that are rare and unique. These can include rafting, sailing, golf, climbing, mountain biking and other sports that they have never tried before.

Our Instructors (Peak Leaders) Our instructors, or Peak Leaders as we call them, have a vast amount of collective talent, experience and expertise. They are all BAFD accredited, or other EU equivalent qualified, in-line with local regulations and trained according to the British Activity Holiday Association (BAHA) guidelines. They specialise in water sports, archery, fencing and other skills that help keep the children entertained and safe at the same time.

Association/Accreditation All of our activity camps are conducted in-line with the British Activity Holiday Association guidelines and the French organisation of Jeunesse et Sport.

Activities Available What can be cooler than sharing the thrill of a raft together? Well, learning survival and drama skills within the same camp really completes the list. The exciting activities available include:

Tuesday – Tried golf for the first time in my life.

Wednesday – Real mountain biking in really big mountains – the scenery was amazing.

Thursday – Had such a laugh during the tug-of-war competition, so many nationalities took part.

Saturday – Visited Lyon today – one of the most historical cities in the South of France.

Monday – Was really exhausted after the water-sport day; I swam, sailed and visited an aqua fun park.

Wednesday – Took a guided trip to understand the flora & fauna of the Alps. I learned about endangered species and the effort of protecting them.

Friday – Had an amazing dinner today and a get together afterwards, great memories, I will miss everyone.

Saturday – Going home soon! However, everyone has signed up to my Facebook page and I’m going to keep in touch with everyone I met.

Be the next apprentice and try our challenging fun-filled Young Entrepreneur Camp! This exclusive camp introduces young adults, aged between 15 and 17, the fundamental elements of setting up a business venture. Projects will include product development, finance, marketing and sales, in a fun and enjoyable environment. Young Entrepreneurs will engage in business tasks that will require them to put their business sense into practice and give all that it takes to succeed at the challenge.

Our Mentors A dedicated consultant will lead the different tasks and provide advice to our Young Entrepreneurs.Our Young Entrepreneurs will be inspired by business experts, local entrepreneurs and TUI Travel PLC’s directors and managers.

This camp is all about providing Young Entrepreneurs with the foundations and tools to succeed in the business world and nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit. Cycling Alpe d’Huez is extremely popular for cycling and hosts several high profile events from La Marmotte, Tour de France and gaining in popularity the EDF Alpe d’Huez Triathlon. In addition to the fantastic cycling, you can enjoy recovery sessions in the impressive sports complex, with swimming pools, spa, and gym for conditioning and strengthening.

Rafting Most rafting centres are based in the valley bottoms to enjoy the exciting yet safer river conditions. Our hotel in Serre Chevalier is ideally placed, with the river running right past the hotel, making it an ideal location for starting your rafting adventures.

Mountain BikingAs the sport of mountain biking increases in popularity, so do the number of trails available in the French Alps! There are rides for all levels.

Walking and HikingWe work with the Bureau de Guides to accompany our guests when a guide is requested. Many of the resorts offer fantastic walking for all levels, from valley walks to glacier trekking.

Excursions & AttractionsAt the head of the Tarentaise Vallee, Tignes has fantastic access to one of the most visited sites of France – Annecy. A tour of the historic site and a lunch on the lake boat is a fantastic experience. With many local cheese factories to visit and access to Mont Blanc you will find yourself enjoying some of the most treasured highlights of France.


Sports FacilitiesWith a fantastic indoor and outdoor infrastructure, Tignes is the ultimate summer camp resort. With a multi-sport gymnasium, semi-Olympic pool, gym and fitness room, recreational sports area, natural grass pitch and an artificial pitch, all at an altitude of 2100m, Tignes has it all! The French football team trained in Tignes before the 2010 World Cup, highlighting the excellent standard of facilities on offer here.

The huge Lac de Serre Ponçon also offers an amazing day of water sports and lakeside activities.

Despite its accomplishments as a world famous ski resort, Serre Chevalier is steeped in tradition and boasts an unfalteringly French feel and welcoming character. Its mountainous character remains the principal attraction of the resort but the regional, climatic influences ensure that the summer months boast all the traits of a Mediterranean destination.

Sports FacilitiesThe Guisane Valley has a rich selection of mountain bike trails that climb up mountain paths through larch forests and descend to the green fields of alpine pastures. With its source at the Col du Lautaret, the Guisane follows the Serre Chevalier valley and offers excellent white-water rafting possibilities. History has left Serre Chevalier with a rich heritage and it acts as a beacon for the cultural identity of the region.

Excursions & AttractionsSettled above the beautiful village of Aime, La Plagne enjoys great access to the town and lake of Annecy where water sports, historic tours and sun are the pick of the day. You may also get the chance to visit the natural Gorges de Fier or even Geneva and its towering water fountain, CERN centre or the famous Palais de Nations.

At a height of 2,050m, with a Savoyard identity and welcoming nature, La Plagne is the perfect destination to take part in our summer camps. Here you’ll find an abundance of activities to enjoy during the warmer months, catering for those wishing to soak up the tranquillity of the mountains or those hankering after more energetic sports… the decision is yours!

Sports FacilitiesThe mountain station itself is spread across five key villages with a network of routes between them and the towering mountains, all fantastically graded for walkers and mountain bikers. The Hotel Turquoise sits on the doorstep of the high ropes adventure course and outdoor sports facilities, coupled with fantastic open grass areas for our activities. A 2 minute walk sees you enter the quaint shopping area and traditional market place. There is access via the lift system to the fantastic ice cave on the La Plagne Glacier…it’s amazing!

Clubhotel Belle Aurore Alpe d’Huez

In the heart of Alpe d’Huez, Clubhotel Belle Aurore can cater for up to 138 guests in a total of 38 en-suite bedrooms. The Belle Aurore has a range of facilities on offer including:

Personal Security Our Clubhotel employees are specifically recruited on the basis of their skills and eagerness to work with young groups of people. All our full time staff are CRB checked, enabling them to work with young adults, whilst seasonal staff are all checked through the list 99 scheme, or other local screening programmes.

Jeunesse et Sports The majority of our Clubhotels are proud to be awarded the Jeunesse et Sport classification, as we have shown the French government that our Clubhotels are suitably furnished, safe, well managed and serviced for the requirements of young groups.

Catering Our philosophy is simple; to provide healthy nutritional meals to even the most demanding of palates. Our chefs are also fully conversant with the many special dietary requirements now seen as standard, with most requirements easily catered for. All of our staff understand the importance of various food intolerances and allergies, which are handled with ease and sensitivity.

Building Security All of our Clubhotels have been recently renovated and have all achieved ‘type R’ status. This classification ensures that the hotels meet the highest standards in fire detection, fire containment, fire-systems control, smoke evacuation and people evacuation.

Pastoral Care Our Peak Leaders are split among the groups according to gender for the ease of managing house rules. Ratios are one Peak Leader to eight individuals. We have strong, long term relationships with doctors who are on call 24 hours-a-day to deal with any medical circumstances that may arise and there are hospitals within easy reach of each of our resorts.
