The Role of The Campus Officer

Is to help students to:

• Engage in positive behaviour

•Steer students away from antisocial activity and crime

•Engage with local community

And to support Staff in partnership to educate the students

Where are Campus Officers based?

• 21 of Ayrshire's Secondary Schools have Campus officers

• Ayrshire College

Why are Campus Officers in schools and colleges?

To help develop greater links with the community, in particular with young people

To become part of daily life in the community

To build real trust

To keep people safe

To establish and develop partnerships

Future Plans for NKBL training?

• School staff (Teachers, active schools, Welfare officers)

• Local group/club leaders who have the opportunity to interact and engage with young people

• Fellow officers within the police

• Refresher sessions to campus officers to ensure they are aware of the latest resources available for NKBL delivery within their school.
