• Founded in 1925 in Easton PA in Lafayette

College by Frank Reed Horton

• Women were allowed in the brotherhood in

1976

• We are an international fraternity with a strong

presence in the Philippines and Australia

• Motto: Be a Leader, Be a Friend, Be of Service

Phi Chapter: An Abridged History

• October 2, 1931 - The first meeting was held at

Phi Kappa Tau fraternity house.

• March 17, 1932 – Received our official charter

• 17 Hours of Community Service (at least 9 Brotherhood hours)

• Attendance of all Pledge Class meetings

• Payment of all pledging fees

• Pass all quizzes with score of 80% or better

• Interview 40 brothers, 100% of pledges, all of eboard, 2 advisers, and 2

others

• Completion of Final Pledge Project

• Participation in at least 1 Pledge Class service project

• Participation in at least 1 Pledge Class fellowship

• Participation in at least 1 Brotherhood fellowship

• Participation in at least 1 Pledge Class fundraiser

• Participation in at least 1 inter-chapter activity

• Participation in 2 Pledge Phishbowls AND Participation in 3 Brother
