SYSTEMS INTEGRATION AND DISPLAYWIRELESS DATA LOADING SYSTEM (CONNECTED FLIGHT DECK) INSTALLATION

1. Planning Information

A. Effectivity

PC-12/47E aircraft MSN 1001 - 1719, 1721 - 1944 without the factory option - Connected Flight Deck - installed.

B. Concurrent Requirements

Aircraft with Service Bulletin 45-012 embodied or with Honeywell Primus APEX Operational Software Build 8.8 or higher installed.

AFM Report Number 02277 at Revision 16 or higher.

C. Reason

(1) Problem

Database loading and maintenance data downloading is time consuming. Flight plans created off-aircraft cannot be easily loaded to the Primus APEX avionics suite.

(2) Solution

Install a wireless data loading system. From a Personal Electronic Device (PED), the system can:

• Upload databases to the Primus APEX avionics suite

• Upload flight plans to the Primus APEX avionics suite on-ground (with APEX Build 8.8) or on-ground and in-air (APEX Build 10 only)

• Download and clear maintenance data from the Primus APEX avionics suite

• Broadcast flight information and show a moving map on the PED in the passenger cabin.

D. Description

This Service Bulletin gives the instructions necessary to install a wireless data loading system. A wireless router (the Aspen Connected Gateway CG100P) is installed behind the baggage compartment right trim panel. Two circuit breakers are added for the CG100P electrical power. Wiring is added to interface the CG100P to the Modular Avionics Unit (MAU) and the maintenance panel. The right auxiliary sidewall panel is replaced and modified with a switch and an LED to allow database uploads with aircraft standby power only.

Revision 1 to this Service Bulletin modifies the wiring from the WLAN data loader to the MAU.

by this revision.

Revision 3 to this Service Bulletin modifies the installation instructions and includes aircraft MSN 1001 and Up. A new CG100P (P/N 975.96.32.439) Revision F is installed. A setup and test procedure is included in the Service Bulletin instructions.

Customers who have embodied this Service Bulletin at Revision 1 and Revision 2 shall update to Revision 3 of this Service Bulletin.

Revision 4 to this Service Bulletin updates the login procedure. Customers who have embodied this Service Bulletin at Revision 3 need not do further work.

Revision 5 to this Service Bulletin modifies the installation instructions and introduces new pins and sockets for cross-over connectors P188-4A and J188-4A. This revision also updates the grounding point for wire U28A22N. Customers who have embodied this Service Bulletin at an earlier revision need not take further action.

Revision 6 to this Service Bulletin updates the procedure to incorporate software Build 8.8 and corrects a part number error. It is highly recommended that customers who have embodied this Service Bulletin at an earlier revision upgrade to Build 8.8.

Revision 7 to this Service Bulletin introduces a new CG100P unit (P/N 975.96.32.456) with software Build Revision G. The old CG100P units (P/N 975.96.32.439) are updated to the new unit with a software loader tool. This software build is field-loadable and introduces new functionality, e.g. deletion of Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) maintenance data from the Primus APEX avionics suite. Customers who have incorporated this Service Bulletin at an earlier revision can incorporate Service Bulletin 46-006 to upgrade the CG100P unit to the latest software version.

Revision 8 to this Service Bulletin updates the procedure to support the CG100P unit with either Software Build Revision G or Software Build Revision H. Revision 8 also adds an export control statement.

Revision 9 to this Service Bulletin updates the effectivity. Customers who have embodied this Service Bulletin at an earlier revision need not take further action.

This Service Bulletin gives an instruction to remove AFM TR 37.

Customers with a configured CG100P unit who have incorporated this Service Bulletin at an earlier revision must incorporate Service Bulletin 46-007 (at the latest revision). This will upgrade the CG100P unit to software Build Revision H.
