During 1971-74 under the Nixon administration, the U.S. had anti-inflation wage-price controls that went through various phases. During Phase II, the most elaborate part of the program, smaller wage cases known as Category III were initially processed by the IRS and referred to an internal staff-operated Pay Board tribunal for review. This is a sample Category III case.
