The digital MDSMELSCALE is designed to use with the lifts as shown above. The scale may be set to read 0-700 lbs or 0-317 Kgs. The scale will not increase the weight capacity of the lift and therefore never attempt to lift anyone whose weight is above the lifts’ safe working load. For accurate reading a secure hardware fit is required therefore do not attempt to use other scale brands on these lifts.

Each scale is calibrated at the factory prior to shipping. The calibration certificate is in thebottom of the carton specific to the unit serial number printed on the right side of the scale. The scale is powered by one replaceable 9-volt battery, which is stored inside the scale. Removing the black rubber plug on the right underside of the scale will access the battery. Replace batteries as required. Properly dispose used batteries.

!• Use of the MDSMELSCALE will not increase the lift capacity of the lift. Always

refer to the lift safe working load limit and do not attempt to lift more than the lifts’ load limit.

• Perform all lift procedures as described in your owner’s manual. Always check that all parts are safely attached and secured prior to attempting a lift.

• Torn, frayed or damaged slings could fail and result in serious injury or death.

Check slings carefully prior to each lift and discard and replace any that show signs of wear and tear. Never use a sling with a lower safe working load limit than the weight of the resident/patient/user.

Prior to assembly please ensure all parts as noted above are present. Then follow these step-by-step instructions:
