A person suffering from paralysis orany other injury has to always relyon a helper.

He cannot move around to performroutine tasks like switching on/off a

    fan , tube light etc.

Our project aims at providing a

    solution to the same.

Appliances can be turned on and offand light dimmer functions can alsobe achieved by simply bending his

    fingers.

Our project also includes amechanism to control wheelchairmotion.

    Wheel chair navigation control:

    q H BRIDGE

It is an electronic circuit that enables a voltage to beapplied across a load in either direction.

These circuits are often used in robotics and otherapplications to allow DC motors to run forward and

    backward.

    DC MOTOR

q It is an electric motor that runs on direct current (DC)electricity. DC motors can operate directly from rechargeable

    batteries.

q1000RPM 12V DC Geared Motors For Robotics Applications

q Very Easy To Use And Available In Standard Size.

    q 5kgcm Torque

    q No-Load Current = 60 MA(Max), Load Current = 300 MA(Max)

    Home appliance control :

    q Relays

A relay is a switch which is operated by electricity

    It is usually electromagnetic device

When a small trigger voltage is applied to a relay, power supply to the device is switched on

When the trigger voltage is removed, the power supplyfor the device is also cut off

Some relays can be triggered directly by amicrocontroller output

    4/24/12

    Advantages of Relays:

It can be used to turn on and off appliances with triggerpulses from the microcontroller

Can be used to switch for higher current than amicrocontroller can produce

Provides electrical insulation to the sensitive components

    Advantages of Patient

    Helper:

No need for a person to remain with the patient

    at all times

    Easy to use

Additional functions can be added easily.

Zigbee covers more distance compared to

transmission using IR rays (which is used insome remote controls)

The existing wheel chair control systems aredifficult to use and master.

    Future Work

Communication module needs to beconfigured, installed and

    programmed

The Output module of control ofappliances using relays needs to besetup
