1 `` Letter from the President August, 2019 In This Issue Hard to believe summer is almost over, time flies when you are having fun…or so they say. I find it flies as I am getting older and ‘that ain’t fun.’ I did welcome a new grandbaby in July and that was fun. Taking care of the 3 siblings (3-5-7) was….interesting. If you are not familiar with ‘Shopkins’, (a toy very popular with the three) they are size of large tacks and feel about the same if you step on them barefoot. And to think I worried about losing a pin on the floor! Yes, I took my machine to babysit and, yes, I took over the dining room and made some progress on an old BOM that I have been trying to finish ‘like forever.’ I made three ‘My Little Pony’ tote bags in the appropriate size, a hand-sewing pillow I saw on YouTube Quilt Roadie, mended a pair of my DIL’s shorts, and finished an American Doll crocheted dress I started a long time ago as three little girls were breathing down my neck on that one. Of course, there was a lot of cuddling that 4 th baby…. a boy! Hallelujah, the angels did sing. I believe my DIL had the best comment of my month long visit….”Bubba (what the grandkids call me), if you just want to stick a straw in that wine bottle, no one will judge.” Hope you are enjoying these summer months and quilting away.
