My Friends in the Lord Jesus,
Our parish is the wonderful and faith filled place because of the commitment of our people to our Catholic faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This past Monday Bishop McManus celebrated the annual Mass for Life at St. Paul Cathedral during which our parishioner Corinn Dahm was a recipient of the Mother Teresa Pro-Life Award. This award was granted to only two people in our Diocese, and one was Corinn Dahm. She and her husband, Lawrence, and their children are active members of our St. Bernadette community. This award is granted to a person who actively witnesses to life in all of its stages, from the sacredness of conception to the dignity of natural death.
Corinn has a long history of promoting life through education and witness, most especially with young people. She not only teaches religious education in our parish but enables her students to be involved in the support of life. As a professional ultrasound technician, Corinn has helped pregnant women to actually see the child of their wombs, leading to making positive decisions for the life of their child. Congratulations Corinn for your faith, witness to life, and through your award, for bringing this honor to our parish.
Congratulations continue, this time for our St. Bernadette parish school. Mary Anne Jezierski, a Middle School Social Studies Teacher, Extended Day Director, and International Student Coordinator was a recipient of the national Teacher of the Year award by the National Catholic Education Association. There are only 10 recipients of this award annually in the United States, and one of them was our “Miss J.” She is also the first in our diocese to have received this national award. Mary Anne Jezierski has been for 17 years dedicated to the noble profession of educating children, committed to Catholic School Education. She strives to help her students to not only learn necessary content, but to think and to reason as to how Catholic social teaching impacts every decision and interaction.
Mary Anne has shared her expertise with other Catholic Schools in our diocese as well as the Archdiocese of Boston. She attended the 2014 Eileen Ludwig Greenland National Bearing Witness Summer Institute and is on the Leadership Council for Discovery Education. She has taught in the Summer Technology Academy for Catholic Schools at Boston College and has given presentations at the 2014 and the 2017 National Catholic Education Association Conventions. She also serves our school by assisting our international students, serving as the St. Bernadette School International Student Coordinator. Congratulations Mary Anne and thank you for your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Through your well-deserved award, it is our blessing that St. Bernadette School, a National Blue Ribbon School, is once again given national recognition for excellence.

3RD SUNDAY OF EASTER “Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, ‘Peace
be with you.’ But they were startled and frightened...” (Luke 24:36-37)
Throughout the day we have many opportunities to “see the face of Jesus” in others and to “be the face of Jesus” to others. Do we take that opportunity to provide “peace” to those we encounter or are we afraid of what others will think of us and do nothing? Pray for the strength to live a “God-centered” life and not a “self-centered” life.
Praying With Our Parish Please remember in your prayers …
What better way to start the day than with morning Mass! It brings us many blessings and special graces. This week, Mass will be celebrated Monday through Friday at 8:30 AM. The rosary begins at 8:00 AM.
2018 Partners in Charity Appeal
Thanks to all of our parishioners who have made their gift to the 2018 Partners in Charity Appeal. To date, 119 of our
Saint Bernadette Parish families have responded, raising over $59,400 toward our $73,500 goal. If you have not yet made a gift or pledge, please fill out a commitment pledge envelope located in the pews and gathering space. Or visit www.partners-charity.net to donate online. Part-ners in Charity, formerly known as the Bishop’s Fund, is the Annual Appeal for the Diocese of Worcester, serving 28 charitable, educational, and pastoral, ministries. Through your generous support we are able to serve thousands of families and individuals in Worcester County through out-reach, formation, evangelization and worship. Thank You!
Please pray for the sick, suffering & shut-ins of our parish. Keep them in your daily prayers that when they are physically weak, they will have the strength of God and His love.

St Augustine Council #5724
The St. Bernadette/St. Rose of Lima, Knights of Columbus Council will be holding a membership information weekend April 21-22 after all Masses. The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 at St. Mary’s Parish in New Haven, CT by the Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney, and it has since grown to become the largest Catholic fraternal organization in the world. Our local Council was established 50 years ago and currently has over 130 members - a band of brothers dedicated to doing good in the service of God and neighbor. We are very active in supporting our Parishes, families and helping those in need in the wider community - exemplifying our Order’s principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. If you are a Catholic man interested in growing your faith and putting it into action, please consider becoming a Knight. For more information about the Knights, visit our Council website www.kofcnorthborough.org or contact Grand Knight Bernie Gillon at 978-771-1725 or Deputy Grand Knight Tom Lowe at 508-393-6594.
