DR. ALVEDA KING – CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST Coming to St. Augustine Church, September 14th. Abortion is the leading cause of death in the United States. Not only that, but in Memphis and the rest of the country, abortion is disproportion-ately killing African American babies. The poor, the marginalized, and minorities are entering the doors of Planned Parenthood in Memphis to abort their children. It is time to wake Memphis up, and specifically the Church, to the fact that abortion is now the greatest civil rights issue facing the United States today. A group of Catholic Memphis Cursillistas and the Memphis Coalition for Life is excited to announce that evangelist Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is coming to Memphis to address the public on this very topic! As the Executive Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, Dr. King will inspire Christians from all denomina-tions to get involved in the fight to end the atrocity of abortion in Memphis and to save lives from abortion. The free talk and luncheon will be held on Sat. Sept. 14 from 10 AM to 1 PM at St. Augustine Church, 1169 Kerr Avenue, Memphis, TN 38106 and is open to the public. To attend or donate to this event, please visit: http://memphiscoalitionforlife.org/king
