Weather-Related Mass Cancellationsfor St. George, St. Gregory and St. John the Baptist

Pertaining only to our three rural parishes, when school istwo hours late due to the weather conditions, there will beno weekday morning Mass. If school dismisses early due tothe weather, there will be no weekday evening Mass. In anycase, if school is cancelled for the day, no morning orevening Masses will be held at these parishes.

Cathedral 2018 Desk Calendar: The 2018 desk calendar has disappeared from the Cathedral office. We are in the process of populating a new calendar. All Masses reserved in 2018 were recorded in a Mass intention book and have been added to the new calendar. All regularly monthly meetings of the KC’s, CCW, COF, Christian Mothers, the St. Joseph and St. Elizabeth Councils andall weddings are on the new 2018 calendar. However, if you had reserved Leifeld Hall, the Parish Center or the church for an event in2018, please contact the office at [email protected] or by calling 354-4158.

Food Shelf Volunteers Needed: March is Cathedral’s month to staff the Food Shelf. Volunteers are needed for three hours on Mondays and Wednesdays from noon until 3:00 P.M. If you have volunteered in the past, please consider doing so again. For first timers,it is easy and a good way to help those in need. For more information call Gary Roiger at 359-9569. Thank you!

Our Diocesan Ministries Appeal Parish Project this year is tables and racks for the Parish Center, along with makingthe auditorium windows more energy efficient. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for this project. There are envelopes locatedon the tables in the back of church for this designated gift. Also, twenty percent of the gifts given to the Diocesan Ministries Appeal will come back to our parish for this project. Thank you to those that have already given to the DMA orhave pledged your gift.

Sunday, January 14th - Waffle Breakfast and Silent Auction Fundraiser event will be held to assist Delsin Zamzow in making his home handicap accessible as he recovers from being paralyzed from an accident. The event will be held at theLafayette Charter School from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Silent Auction donations are greatly appreciated and can be droppedoff at Dave's Place in Lafayette through January 12th or at the Charter School by 8:30 A.M. on January 14th. Cash donations are also welcome and appreciated.Wednesday, January 17th - Beef or Turkey Commercial Supper, hosted by St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s Catholic UnitedCouncil, will be served from 4:30 - 7:00 P.M. at the St. Andrew’s Social Center in Fairfax. Beverages, desserts, salads, breadand bread pudding will be included. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 years and under. Carryouts will be available. Proceeds will benefit the St. Andrew’s Religious Education Program.Saturday, January 20th - The Revolution 5 will preform a tribute to The Beatles with highlights from the Ed Sullivan Show at The State Street Theater, 1 North State Street. This is a family friendly program.Lutheran Social Service of MN is looking for caring individuals to serve individuals 55 years of age and up in the New Ulm, Sleepy Eye and surrounding areas. Senior Companions are needed to provide companionship to older adults. Volunteers earn a tax-free stipend, travel reimbursement plus other benefits.
