We are blessed to have shared 13 years at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church. This year has gone by swiftly and brought many changes
and challenges. We must face the change with faithful expectation for advancing the Kingdom right here and now. The giants: faith, finance, and fellowship will fall to the will of God. First Lady Mitchell and I are committed to doing a great work here at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church. Together we will carry our church into new ministries and conquer our giants. We walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)!
Our theme for 2019 is, “Strong, Courageous and Unafraid”, taken from Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV. Church, we must stand on the truth that “The Lord will provide”. By faith we believe The ZerNona Black Center will be built now! We are so close I can see it standing and serving the community! This center will bless this community with much needed services of afterschool pro-grams for kids, adult day care for seniors, counseling, a computer lab, and limited health care for all. We must be agents of change for Christ for ourselves and our community. We walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV)!
We must grow in His Spirit, in service, and in the body of Christ. Together we can and will make this happen. The Holy Spirit is our helper.
As with all years, some of our faithful members transitioned from earth to glory. Each one played a vital role in the body of Christ and our church. We cherish their memory. We ask God to continue to send new members as dedicated as the faithful saints now in heaven.
First Lady Mitchell and I thank you who encourage and pray for us daily. We will con-tinue to serve our God and you faithfully. Thank you for loving God and us. Special thanks to God, Sis. Marzell Wilson and each member of the Pastor’s Anniversary Committee, and each of you for making this day of celebration possible. Blessings always,

MY CALLING
THE REVEREND DOUGLAS RANDLE, JR.
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Reverend Douglas Randle has called South Texas his home since late 1997. Licensed into the Gospel Ministry in November 2001 and ordained in November 2006, Reverend Randle entered full-time ministry as the Minister of Youth and Missions at the historic Mount Zion First Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas in 2007. He accepted the call to pastor the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church Family of San Antonio, Texas on October 2, 2013. A product of Seattle School Systems, Reverend Randle at-tended South Seattle Community College where he studied to become a Commercial Painter and Decorator. He contin-
ued his education in preparation for ministry at the Baptist University of the Ameri-cas in San Antonio, Texas and the Interdenominational Theological Center, More-house School of Religion, in Atlanta Georgia. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Minis-try Degree from Newburgh Theological Seminary and Bible College in 2015. His love for writing resulted in several pieces on religion being published in Faith Magazine and Black Focus Magazine. Reverend Randle’s passion is to serve God’s people at whichever capacity is most called for by God and his territory was enlarged beyond the border of the United States in 2008 when he and the Mission Council of Mount Zion partnered with Ruach Ministries International and began serving an orphanage and Christian Academy in Haiti. He was blessed to visit Port Au Prince, Haiti on his first foreign mission trip in 2009. Reverend Randle serves as the Director of the Guadalupe District Missionary Baptist Association Inc., Youth Convention and as the 1st Vice President of the Baptist Minis-ters’ Union of San Antonio & Vicinity. He is also a Board Member of the Community of Churches for Social Action (CCSA). Reverend Randle’s life is made complete through his wife for life, the former Ms. Donna E. Jackson and their grown children and two granddaughters. With that said, the most important fact regarding Reverend Randle is that he loves the Lord and the People of God with all his heart. He loves preaching and teaching the Word of God, and watching God manifest His power in the lives of the Children of God who “only believe.” His motto is, “when we see God for ourselves who we are be-comes extremely clear.”
