A discipline concern with the design, evaluation and implementation of interactive computing systems for human uses and with the study of major phenomena surrounding them

What is HCI?

HUMAN COMPUTER

INTERACTIONUSER INTERFACE

Study, design, construction and implementation of human-centric

interactive computer systems

User interface is how human interact with a system.

Comparison between HCI and UI

Page 4: Past, Present and Future by acucubatrytest

HCI is very importance because it make our world in software and devices easy to handle and usable for everyone.

-HCI provides designer with principles, techniques and tool to make the interference easy to use and doesn’t require training.

Example:-• Mobile Phone

-Make it easy to understand.-friendly user.

Importance of HCI

Daily Life:-We actually deal with the computer almost every days in our life even though we didn’t have a computer such as 1. ATM machine 2. Vending machine -Some use coins. Better have both.

Bussiness and Industry:-The main function of HCI is not only the product is usable, but also safe and efficient. Any error could lead to death.

Example:-1.Traffic light 2.Air traffic control center.Error of design in this situation could lead to death.

HCI Effect

AccessibilityThe product created must be usable and efficient including disabled people.

Example:-1. Elevator -Have braille for number floor.

2. Escalator-Make sure can be use by OKU person.

If any product created not based on the HCI

concepts, this could lead to:-

Emcumbering(beban) Slow Trust (example, window crash).

BAD Impact of HCI

Page 8: Past, Present and Future by acucubatrytest

Confusing –To many download link

Page 9: Past, Present and Future by acucubatrytest

Pros :The user know there is an error. Cons :-not enough information.

-No instruction/contact info to resolve the problem.

Page 10: Past, Present and Future by acucubatrytest

The product must function accordingly. Data display must be correct.

Lead to trust:-Example: 1994 Pentium FDIV bug-the processor return

incorrect decimal result. This problem cost Intel company 475 million to repair the problem.

Reliability
