“The Summer Legal Academy was my formal introduction to the Cleveland legal community. I

had the opportunity to talk with lawyers and judges about their profession, and I was able to put my critical thinking skills to the test by doing legal research and arguing motions. I credit the Legal Academy for implanting the vision that I can do the work of an attorney.”

WHAT IS SUMMER LEGAL ACADEMY?

The Stephanie Tubbs Jones Summer Legal Academy is designed to introduce promising minority students to the legal profession. Area high school seniors will participate in a three-week, part-time intensive and very interactive law institute. The faculty of judges and attorneys will introduce the participants to numerous legal issues and career opportunities.

WHAT TO EXPECTStudents will learn about the criminal and civil legal systems and meet and learn from prominent judges, lawyers, and law professors. This is a tuition-free program!
