Past (Imperfect) Subjunctive

Used when context of sentence is in the past (the verb that expresses the following is either in the preterite, imperfect, or conditional tense).

Ejemplos:

1) Yo quería que Shakira me (hablar) ________ por teléfono.

2) Sam dudaba que nosotros (ir) _______ a la playa.

3) Los estudiantes estudiaron mucho para que (graduarse)___________.

Past Subjunctive Forms

Use the “ellos/ellas/Uds.” preterite form

Drop the –on part of ending and add the following endings:

-a -amos

-as x

-a -an
