SYNOPSIS Follow James Radcliffe-Winterbottom and Billy Edwards as they embark on an adventure into the harsh wilderness of Great Britain in search of the mystical beast, Passer Levitas or the Lightning Sparrow. Throughout the ages, ‘sightings’ have been reported in the New Forest of a small sparrow-like creature which can seemingly vanish at will. Contrary to popular belief, Scientists have deduced that the creature (known as Passer Levitas or Lightning Sparrow) is not disappearing but has in fact evolved to be able to travel faster than the human eye can comprehend. It is assumed that the small, helpless bird has developed in this way over time to escape from other predators in its natural environment. Could this be a British relative of the more famous Lightining Bird or Impondulu?? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_Bird Various photos of questionable validity have been published and many locals speak of tales of the creature, but scientists are yet to put forward any hard evidence that the creature exists. Will they uncover the mystery surrounding the bird or expose it once and for all as delusional ramblings of a bewildered small-town folk? FORMAT This will be a one off documentary style video centering on 2 young, explorer types who have caught wind of this creature and attempt to uncover its secret. It will be shot by one of the 2 lads and the other will present. The video will take a lot of inspiration from the shooting style of The Blair Witch Project, creating a sense of mystery amongst the audience in regards to its authenticity. It will start with an intro into the phenomena with some reference to old material they have found on the bird: old books, questionable photos (a la lochness/ Bigfoot/ UFOs), newspaper cuttings etc. This will lead to them tracking down and interviewing witnesses, namely one old woman who claims to have seen the bird, but only as it flew (at lightning speed) into her eye and blinded her. A few feathers were found but no other evidence that this was the cause and her claims were ignored and it was assumed that she was crazy (she does seem very crazy!). Also a scientist type who will put it down to some kind of weather/electrical phenomena. Toshiba adverts/products may be scattered around subliminally in the various places they go. After the initial research they head out into a vast forest area in search for the bird. Several clues lead them to believe that the bird does exist and they follow a trail deeper in. Things vanish etc. They devise a plan to capture the bird: A large net covering a large area of the forest, from root to canopy and use blow horns or something similar from opposing corners to attempt to force the bird towards the net, knowing that it is notoriously a ‘scaredy cat’. As they get closer to the net we see a CGI effect of something getting caught in the net, then a struggle,
