How we created the party sceneBY ANTONIA ENEMUWE

Page 2: Party scene

Where did we shoot?

Our party scene was shot in one of the media classrooms at our college.

We shot in this location because this scene was done last minute and we had to make use of the facilities that were available to us.

We cleared the room of all its chairs and tables whilst filming though as we didn’t want it to be evident we had shot in a school like environment.

What did we use?

In order to create a party like atmosphere for this scene, we turned the lights off and used the interactive white board in the room to project a disco lights clip which we found on YouTube.

We filmed the scene in front of black curtains so that the disco lights would show more clearly.

I decided to film this scene free hand to add to the drunk, party like atmosphere of this scene. Because the room was so dark I used a top light so you could the artist but had to make sure the top light wasn’t too bright so you could still see the disco light effect.

Why did we shoot?

We didn’t initially plan on filming this scene but once our media teacher told us we didn’t have enough of a variety of scenes, I did some research and the following week came up with the idea of a white wall scene and party scene. Whilst researching other R and B music videos in my free time I saw that a significant number of them had a party scene. So it seemed very conventional to include one in our own music video.
