The Society of Thoracic Radiology invites you to partner with us, as we host the 36th Annual Meeting on March 4-7, 2018 at the new Fairmont Austin, in Austin, Texas. The program committee, headed by President-Elect Cristopher Meyer, MD, in collaboration with Educational Committee Chair, Jeffrey Kanne, MD has designed an outstanding, comprehensive postgraduate radiology course in cardiothoracic imaging. This comprehensive 4-day continuing medical education program offers industry sponsors an opportunity to reach clinicians with the latest thoracic radiology techniques and products. The focused meeting environment is ideal for businesses dedicated to delivering products and services that support these conditions. This forum will allow you to interact with clinicians eager to learn about new technologies and innovations that aim to improve patient care.

The course curriculum covers a variety of cardiothoracic imaging topics including lung cancer screening, diffuse lung diseases, quantitative imaging, big data and deep learning, pulmonary infections, oncologic imaging and interventional management, evidence-based imaging and educational topics, cardiothoracic emergencies, and cardiovascular imaging. Self-assessment modules (SAMs) will provide important opportunities for maintenance of certification and life-long learning needs.

Highlights of the 2018 meeting include:

• The Benjamin Felson Memorial Lecture, “IgG4 Related Disease,” will be given by Jay Ryu, MD, Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Mayo Clinic Rochester.

• The Gordon Gamsu Lecture, “Radiation Induced Lung Injury: Detecting Recurrence and Texture Analysis,” will be given by David Palma, MD, MSc, PhD, FRCPC, Assistant Professor, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Western Ontario.

• The Scanlon Lecture, “Emerging and Recurring Occupational Lung Disease in the 21st Century,” will be given by James Lockey, MD, Professor of Occupational, Environmental and Pulmonary Medicine, University of Cincinnati.

• There will be a session hosted by Geoffrey Rubin, MD, entitled, “Cardiothoracic Conundrums: Cases that Amaze and Inform.” The cases will be solicited from the STR members and highlight diagnostic dilemmas or management challenges. The session will focus on learning from our collective mistakes by sharing them in a relaxed and entertaining format.

• Terrance Healy, MD, and the Awards Committee will identify several of the best posters that will be displayed at the meeting, and the authors of those posters will present their topics in 10-minute talks on Wednesday morning.

ACCREDITATION INFORMATIONThe Society of Thoracic Radiology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

The Society of Thoracic Radiology (STR) designates this live activity for a maximum of 30.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

TARGET AUDIENCEThis course is designed for cardiothoracic radiologists, diagnostic radiologists, pulmonary medicine specialists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and fellows and residents with an interest in cardiothoracic imaging. Because of the prevalence of diseases of the chest in the general population, the course will also be of value to internists and family physicians.

COURSE OBJECTIVES1. List basic concepts in imaging interpretation including

pitfalls, anatomic variants, and frequently missed diagnoses.

2. Summarize the role of imaging in the assessment of cardiac disease, including diseases of the coronary arteries and great vessels of the thorax.

3. Define the role of imaging in the screening, diagnosis, evaluation, and management of patients with lung nodules.

4. Explain the clinical and radiological evaluation and management strategies of a solitary pulmonary nodule, including the subsolid lesion.

5. Illustrate current and emerging applications in radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, and positron emission tomography (PET) as they relate to the evaluation and management of thoracic diseases.

6. Summarize a practical and multidisciplinary approach to the assessment and management of diffuse lung diseases.

7. Define current issues in infectious diseases of the chest.

8. Discuss the current status of interventional procedures of the chest and spectrum of post-treatment changes in the thorax.

9. Apply basic strategies for the interpretation and management of mediastinal abnormalities.

The following Rules and Regulations governing the exhibits under the auspices of the Society of Thoracic Radiology (STR) are part of the application for space and constitute a contract between the Exhibitor and the Society. They have been formulated for the best interests of the Exhibitor and we request the full cooperation of the Exhibitor. The application for space and the official notice of assignment constitutes a contract for the right to use the space allotted. All applications for space must be approved by the Program Committee of the STR before official notice of assignment is made. The Society and w reserve the right to modify the designated exhibit space in the event a change in the original assignment is necessary.

BADGES AND STAFFINGRegistration is required for the assigned exhibit representatives. Deadline for registration is Friday, February 9, 2018. Please submit a list of representatives to the meeting organizer no later than Monday, February 26, 2018. After the total of four (4) representatives has been reached, an additional table/booth must be rented. Official badges must be worn at all times and will admit representatives to the meeting. A company representative registration form is included with the Exhibit Rules and Regulations.

SUBLETTING OF SPACE The subletting, assignment or apportionment of the whole or any part of his space by any Exhibitor is prohibited. No Exhibitor may permit any other party to exhibit in the company’s space any goods other than those manufactured or produced by the contracting Exhibitor or permit the solicitation of business by others within their designated space.

LIABILITYThe Exhibitor indemnifies and agrees to hold harmless the STR, Veritas Meeting Solution, and the Fairmont Austin, industry liaisons, and the legal entities which own, lease, and/or operate the hotel/resort, their members, officers, directors, and employees, against any and all liability whatsoever arising from any damage to property or personal injury caused by the Exhibitor or his agents, representatives, employees, or any other person. It is further understood and agreed that the STR, Veritas Meeting Solution and hotel/resort shall in no event be liable to an Exhibitor for any lost profits, sales or business opportunities or any other type of direct or consequential damages alleged to be due from a breach of this contract. The STR and meeting organizer reserve the right to restrict exhibits which, because of noise, methods of operation, or for any other reason become objectionable, and also, to prohibit or evict any Exhibitor which in the opinion of the STR and meeting organizer may reflect unfavorably against the character of the course and exhibition. No Exhibitor shall have any right or claim against the STR or meeting organizer on account of any action so taken. In such a circumstance, no monies will be refunded.

Packages will be available for pickup inside the FedEx Office business center (receiving fee will apply). Pallets, crates, display cases and other heavier items may be scheduled for delivery by contacting our staff at the number located on the previous page (delivery fee will apply). Package deliveries should only be scheduled after the recipient has checked into the hotel. In order to maintain the proper chain of custody, FedEx Office requires the package recipient’s signature before a package can be released from FedEx Office. Release signatures are captured at the time of package pickup or package delivery to the recipient.

All outbound packages must have a completed carrier airbill affixed to each package. Packaging supplies (boxes, tapes, and etc.) are available for purchase within the FedEx Office business center. FedEx Office offers pack and ship services in the business center; while packaging supplies are also available for purchase. FedEx Express® shipping boxes and airbill forms are available and complimentary. ELECTRICAL RATE SCHEDULE: For request of more than 4 outlets, you must request a heavy duty service and specify the number of outlets required. Four outlets constitutes a 20 AMP circuit. NOTE: Please include a diagram of floodlight and outlet locations. Cable for dimmer boards or special outlets must be supplied by the exhibitor/outside co.

YOUR ORDER MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 15 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE DATE OF SERVICE TO ENSURE TIMELY INSTALLATION

GENERAL INFORMATION: Wall outlets or columns are not a part of the rental space and are not to be used. Charges for electrical service listed, do not include repair of outside equipment or any control wiring. Service does include power to one point and one connection. Motors of one-half horsepower or more must be equipped with a safety switch. If 24-hour service is required, please describe your requirements and our staff will furnish a quote. PSAV and/or Fairmont reserves the right to refuse connections where wiring constitutes a safety or fire hazard.
