Etiology : Unclear (dopamine neurons degenerate )Progressive loss of dopamine brain cells(from the sub-stantia nigra : midbrain) → Reduced amount of dopamine in the Basal Ganglia(corpus striatum)

less dopamine is transported to the striatum, the area of the brain that co-ordinates movement.

symptoms begin when the loss of dopamine reaches a criti-cal point,
