What about our maintenance fees?
Qué pasa con nuestras tarifas de mantenimiento?
Some of our residents have been asking
about our maintenance fees. Why are they
so much? What is done with the money?
Would you be surprised to know that our
internet poll of twelve other subdivisions
near us and in Sugarland showed that we
have the lowest maintenance fee? Our $120
a year was reached in 1980 and is limited by
the deed restric+ons. Could you live today on
the same amount of money that you made
in 1980? The closest to us was Parkglen West
at $136 a year. Hun+ngton was $240 a year.
The subdivisions in Sugarland and off high-
way 6 ranged from $400 to $1800 a year.
Ok so where does that money go? We have
648 homes in Parkglen. At $120 each that
amounts to a theore+cal total of $77,760.
That seems like a lot of money but wait we
don’t get all that. We will spend what we
need to so that everyone pays. So where
does the rest of the money go that we re-
ceive?

The largest expense is the pool and the lifeguards. Other ex-
penses include water, electricity, maintaining the common are-
as, repairing everything from the playground, fences, air condi-
+oners for the civic center, office supplies, stamps, mainte-
nance of the civic center, plumbing problems, electrical prob-
lems, legal fees etc. Remember the services today are at 2018
prices and not 1980 prices.
All of this is why we have to rely on volunteers. So please volun-
teer to help or be7er yet serve at least one term on the board.
We should all help each other out and this is a way to do it.

hacerlo.
ATTENTION SWIMMERS
Our contractor that maintains the Parkglen pool in-
forms us that an excessive amount of co7on lint is
clogging up the filters to the swimming pool.
Please refrain from wearing all coEon swim trunks,
bathing suits and t-shirts in the pool.

Need Board Members The last members mee+ng of the year is in October. This is also
the month when we vote in new Parkglen CIA board members.
Because of a quirk in the vo+ng last year all the terms of the
present board members except one expire the end of 2018. We
need some residents to step up to serve on the board and help
our fellow residents in Parkglen. We do not have enough money
to hire a company to take care of Parkglen’s business so we rely
on volunteers. Please help Parkglen. Some of the old board
members are willing to help the new members.
Please let us know if you are interested. Contact the board at
