Protocols For Attending Mass in Person

• If sick or exhibiting symptoms of any illness, stay home.

• If over the age of 60, you are encouraged to stay home.

• In the obligation of charity to our neighbors, it’s required that people in attendance at Mass wear masks or scarves over their mouth and nose inside the church.

• Children under the age of two (2-years-old) are not required to wear masks in keeping with CDC recommendations.

• Sanitize hands before entering the church.

• The number of people who attend Mass will be LIMITED to a number that can safely present within the guidelines set by the Governor and the CDC with social distancing of 3 feet.

• The St. Stephen Daily Masses will be live streamed. Those who cannot be admitted may watch the Mass in their vehicles and may receive Holy Communion in the church foyer after Mass. Social distancing must be maintained.

• Holy Communion will be received in the hand, not on the tongue.

As you are aware, the current Safe Environment program for adults, Virtus Protecting God's Children (PGC) (3-hour session), is valid for 2 years.

For those that took the training in 2018, the VIRTUS renewal program is available now. “Keeping the Promise

Alive” (KPA) is the name of the renewal training or recertification. This training is a live 1 ½ hour session. For complete listings of ZOOM recertification trainings please visit the Diocese website or www.virtus.org

The renewal of Safe Environment training can be accomplished by attending the KPA 1 ½ hour session OR attending the original PGC 3-hour session again.

The Protecting God's Children training program is the prerequisite for the Keeping the Promise Alive 1 ½ hour renewal training. It is no longer a requirement to read the monthly VIRTUS bulletins, although they will continue to be

available for all.

The Diocese has worked closely with the VIRTUS company to create an automatic email (“renewal reminder”) which will be sent out within 60 days prior to the PGC expiration date.
