September 12, 2021 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time
To be a disciple is to have faith and follow Jesus. After Christ asks, Who do you say that I am? Peter answers, You are the Christ. Let our profession of faith be the same. And then, as James implores us, let us demonstrate that commitment to our faith by our words and actions.

Saint of the Week: Sept. 12 - Most Holy Name of Mary, a memorial honouring the name of Mary was instituted by Pope Innocent XI in the 17th century and is observed
three days after the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In the
Middle Ages, the name Mary was often translated as “star of the sea,” a title at-tributed to Mary. God the Father is glori-fied by the exalted role in salvation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Thus, her name is one of honour, a holy name, a maternal name and a name responsive to the needs of the Church.

Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
Viens me visiter spirituellement. Amen

all the men and women of our world, to advance together
towards an ever wider 'we'".

As we continue to grow as mission-oriented churches forming disciples of Jesus, we want to invite our parishioners to know and live that vision as well.
What is Bishop Fabbro’s vision for the Diocese of London? Diocese of London: Being a Mission-Oriented Church that Forms Disciples of Jesus. We can live this by growing our relationship with Jesus and sharing that relationship in our parishes, communities, and homes.
Learning about the Vision: What does it mean to be Mission-Oriented?
“The Church's deepest nature is expressed in her three-fold responsibility: of proclaiming the word of God, celebrating the sacraments, and exercising the ministry of charity. These duties presuppose each other and are inseparable.” -Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est 25
In the coming weeks, we will be sharing more about living and praying for this vision.
