We are a Eucharistic commu-nity, finding strength in Jesus and His Church by living both Word and Sacrament. We min-ister to the needs of the People of God through Worship and living out the Gospel and the Teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
We never stop learning about God. Consider subscribing to a Catholic publication that can grow your faith (The Word Among Us, Magnificent, etc.) or check out one of the many wonderful online resources (Vatican News, Dynamic Catholic, etc.). We need to feed ourselves to continue to grow in the Lord.
The registration forms and CCD Schedule are also available on our parish website:

YOUTH GROUP We continue to pray for our Youth Group as they attend the Steubenville East Conference this week-end. May it be a time of grace and growth and safe jour-ney home. Formal meetings of the Youth Group have
ended for the summer. We hope to see you this fall!
NEW HANDICAPPED RAMP: Construction began on the new Handicapped Ramp last week. This bulletin was final-ized on Monday when all we got to see was the beginning of the demolition and site preparation. Please be aware, we have closed down the Academy Street Entrance for the next couple weeks. Construction should not affect the Oratory. The plan begins by removing the old stairs & excavating the area for the foundation of the new ramp. A drainage struc-ture is being installed near the church with the storm drain
line going out to Main Street. A second drainage structure will attached to this when we resurface the parking lot at the end of the project. Plans for the cement ramp are at the entrances of the church. Please pray for good weather, safety for all working on the pro-ject and providence that there are minimal hassles along the way. Thanks to all who have contributed. While we are not running a formal fund drive, every little bit helps. Donation
envelopes & posters detailing the project are located by the side entrances of the church.
EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP - July 14, 2019
RECOGNIZE GOD IN YOUR ORDINARY MOMENTS
So many times in my life, I have failed to start something because I had not yet ade-
quately prepared. I would have started working out or going for a jog, but I needed to
get the right shoes. I would have started eating right if only I could find the time and
money to buy the right foods. I would have started that journaling project, but I couldn't
without a really nice leather-bound journal. I would have, I would have, and I would
have!
I know many people can relate. We offer up excuses for so many things. Sometimes we
even get to the point where we do start something, but by then, we have already lost so
much time.
Some of us are thinking about taking a stewardship way of life seriously, but we are just
not ready yet. We would be more generous if we can first get out of debt. We would
give of our time, but we have to wait until the kids get older or until we fully research
our options. The truth is, we don't have to be in any particular state of life or have any specific financial portfolio to start giving our very selves to God. God takes us as we are
now. No resume needed. Why waste so much time thinking about getting started and
becoming serious? Time is a gift given to all of us. As we think and prepare endlessly,
we are practicing poor stewardship. The time to start is today. Who wants to answer
God one day at the gates of Heaven saying, "I would have."?

Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
All Christ did, all he taught, was the will of God. Humility in our daily lives, an unwavering faith, a moral sense of mod-esty in conversion, justice in acts, mercy in deed, discipline, refusal to harm others, a readiness to suffer harm, peace-ableness with our brothers, a wholehearted love of the Lord, loving in him what is of the Father, fearing him be-cause he is God, preferring nothing to him who preferred nothing to us, clinging tenaciously to his love, standing by his cross with loyalty and courage whenever there is any conflict involving his honor and his name, manifesting in our speech the constancy of our profession and under torture confidence for the fight, and in dying the endurance for which we will be crowned—this is what it means to wish to be a coheir with Christ, to keep God’s command; this is
what it means to do the will of the Father.
- St. Cyprian, Bishop and Martyr.
FROM THE ASSOCIATE PASTOR5
Thanks be to God for His mercy and His grace. It is an honor to be here, to learn under Father Brian and to serve God's people in Berkshire County. I am thankful for the warm welcome that I have received from everyone, and I'm looking forward to learning and be-coming part of this great community
As a new priest, I would not be here without the support of those around me and those who continuously pray for vocation. Thank you for your support and thank you as we walking together as Catholics, in the path of following our Lord Jesus Christ
For those who are wondering, my name is Duy Le, Duy is my first name, and Le is my last name. 'John' is my baptismal name, for Vietnamese people, we have a tradition of passing down the Baptismal name when we sponsor someone else. For example, my Godfather’s baptismal name is John (the Bap-tist), and I received it from him. Then I was my nephew’s sponsor, and so his baptismal name is John as well. We are related with the help of the Saint, and so we celebrate our feast day together.
I don't have any preference on how you call me, Fr. Duy is fine. The d is silence, so it's more like U E, just two letters and say it fast, “ue”. I hope to know more about everyone; so, please introduce yourself to me, and sorry in advance that I will bother you a lot about it.
In the coming months, I hope to be able to work with the ministers of homebound so that I will get to know those who have physical dif-ficulty and are unable to attend Mass.
Once again, thank you for your prayers and your hospitality. May God bless you and guide you in His peace.
God Bless. Fr. Duy
The 15th Sunday of Ordinary Time
July 15, The Feast of St. Bonaventure
Do you ever get stuck with the tough jobs? It's
well known that the Franciscan Order was in-
credibly influential throughout history. But one of
the most challenging times for a new movement
is surviving the death of the founder.
Bonaventure joined the Franciscan Order almost
two decades after the passing of St. Francis. Ini-
tially, the young man's theological insights
earned him a prime faculty position at the Uni-
versity of Paris. More than his academic skill,
however, he was known for his deep devotion to
Christ.
He was elected the General Minister of the Fran-
ciscan Order, right in the thick of controversies.
Some friars had conflicting views of how to inter-
pret St. Francis' poverty as the order grew. Oth-
ers started a new heresy, saying that the Francis-
can Order began a new era of the Holy Spirit,
replacing the era of Jesus and the authority of
the Church. St. Bonaventure weathered these
crises with grace, restructuring the order when
necessary and offering a more organized per-
spective on the insights of St. Francis.

GOSPEL MEDITATION - July 14, 2019 - 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Loving isn't too difficult, right? Many of us are surrounded by kind,
lovely people trying to do the right thing. Indeed, to "love your
neighbor as yourself" seems like it should be easy enough. Treat
people like you would like to be treated. Bring the new neighbors
some baked goods (normal and gluten-free, just in case). Chat with
the bank teller about his holiday weekend. Write an occasional card
to your sister ‘just because.’ There were probably varieties of these
acts of kindness in Jesus' day. Perhaps substituting figs for cookies.
But "exchange pleasantries with the traveling cloth merchant" isn't
the example Jesus gives.
"A man fell victim to robbers... they stripped him and beat him and
went off leaving him half-dead." The righteous pass by the scene
of the dying man. The hero of the story is the one on the margins
of Jewish society, who perhaps would not have been welcomed, in
other circumstances, by the man now in the ditch. His neighborly
love causes him to halt his journey, to tend wounds, and to pay for
the man's care out of his own savings. Are we interruptible? Are
we attentive to the hurts of others? Are we generous with our
money and possessions?
In the past few weeks, who has crossed your mind as someone in
need of help? Perhaps it's an acquaintance suffering from cancer.
Maybe you were invited to donate or volunteer to a local social
cause, but it just won't stick in your mind (or schedule) to make it
happen. The needs of people are many and varied. We can't help
everyone, but God does place opportunities in our path for compas-
sion and courageous love. This week, be "the one who treated him
with mercy."
