Dear Parishioners,

This Second Sunday of May is Mother’s Day here in the United States. May God bless

all the wonderful nurturing women that have been placed in our lives through divine

providence. Whether our Mothers are here or deceased, we owe them a lasting debt of devotion

for their love, protection and all they taught us. Like everything else in our lives, Mother’s

Day will be different this year, yet we know that love transcends all restrictions and

quarantines. Thank You Mothers! God bless you.

Of course, Mother’s Day in the month of May reminds us of the devotion and love due our spiritual

Mother, the blessed Virgin Mary. Like any loving mother, don’t be afraid to run to her with any worries or

fears.

Please keep your financial support going. The number of envelopes coming in is very touching and

truly, we are grateful for what is coming in; however, we were moving towards deficits even prior to our

masses being cancelled. So, thank you again for your support.

We are fortunate that all four parishes were able to get the PPP Loans from the government but that

money is restricted to payroll and utilities. It does not fill the gap in what we lost in Fish Frys, Bingo,

spaghetti dinner, school fundraisers and collections. This money will help, but please continue to be as

generous as your own circumstances permit.

The effects of this pandemic are far-reaching and will have many consequences for every aspect of

life. What it is doing to the churches is only one aspect.

Please keep your prayers going for the needs of so many people. We are praying for you. God bless

you.

Fr. Bob

SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE

ARISE TO GLORY

Please remember in your Masses and prayers the souls of Ann Popovich, Rego Antonini, parishioners at Holy Family, and Kim D’Orazio, Anna Groves, parishioners at St. Cecilia, and all the faithful departed. May they rest in peace. Please pray for the consolation of those who grieve for the departed.

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM

We are happy to welcome the newest members of our parish. To schedule a baptism, please call any of the parish offices to speak to a priest about scheduling a baptism. See the parish office phone numbers on the front of the bulletin. A godparent must be a baptized Catholic who is at least 16 years of age and received the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation, is in good standing with the Catholic Church and is not the parent. Call your parish office for a sponsor letter.

Arrangements should be made with a priest at least six months in advance. Pre-marriage classes, as well as meetings with the priest, are necessary. One party to be married must be a registered parishioner and a practicing Catholic.

PRE-BAPTISM CLASS

For St. Cecilia or St. Felix, there will be a session on June 7, July 12 and August 2, at 2:00 p.m. in the Religious Ed. Center. To register, call Gary or Tina Grimm at 724-495-2385. For Saints Peter and Paul, please call the parish office to schedule a class with Fr. Bob Miller.

2020 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

ST. CECILIA JUNE 15-19, 2020

STS. PETER & PAUL JULY 20-23, 2020

What happened to the fish from Saint

Cecilia’s Fish Frys? When the Corona Virus

shut down our Fish Frys in mid March, we had 600

pounds left in our freezer. This has been donated to

a wonderful organization in New Brighton “TWELVE

LOAVES SOUP KITCHEN” to provide free fish

sandwiches to anyone in need.

With the announcement from Gov. Wolfe this week, now is the time we need to make sure our youth know we love and care for them. For many Beaver County students, the four walls of their school provide them with a safe space where they feel

uplifted, loved, relaxed and supported.

The Y will continue to distribute meals to the children of our community. Next week our distribution will increase to over 1,300 meals a day. (Note: This is more than one day of

our summer program!)

This is a great opportunity to send a message or a special treat to a child who is searching for love, support, and the

good in the world.

The Y will continue to collect brown bag meals daily from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at the Y location. Our goal is 150 a day. (Please make sure to confirm your delivery day and amount as this will aid in making our process smoother when distributing

the meals.)

HOW DO I HELP SPREAD LOVE?

STEP ONE: Commit to making a number of meals by

calling 724-891-8439

STEP TWO: Select a drop off date, and make sure the

meals meet the 5 components listed below.

STEP THREE: Add your special message or touch...words or drawings of encouragement, and of course little surprises and extras are fine too. (This is where we make the difference. They need the meal, but the safety and love from a fellow community member makes the difference. )

DONATE: CALL 724-891-8439

2236 3rd Avenue New Brighton, PA 15066

Phone: 724-891-8439 Fax: 724-847-3923

The bulletins and devotional booklets can be

picked up in front of St. Cecilia parish office. St.

Felix, Holy Family and Sts. Peter and Paul

bulletins can be found outside the churches.

You can drop off your offering envelopes at

each parish office.
