Parish Staffing Changes
Laura Dougherty will join our Parish team and serve as our Pastoral Assistant for Liturgy, Pastoral Care, and Funerals.
Laura Dougherty has been a member of St. Patrick
parish for many years. She and her husband, DJ,
were married here 20 years ago. Their children,
James and Joseph, attended St. Pat’s school and
are currently at Bellarmine Prep. Shortly after grad-
uating from college, Laura served 8 years as a
youth minister in the diocese, beginning at Holy
Cross. She then spent 18 years working as an
executive director for a number of non-profits.
Throughout the years, Laura has been very active
in the St. Pat’s community, both in the school and
the parish. While her children were in school she
was heavily involved in the REACH auction, served
as president of the parent’s club and volunteered in
the classroom. As a parishioner, Laura has been a
long-time member of the Liturgy Commission and
this year prepared the children in the RCIA program
to receive their sacraments at the Easter Vigil. She
looks forward to her new role and the privilege of
serving her faith community.

Pope Francis' Jubilee House
As part of the partnership between the Pierce County Deanery and the Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity affiliate,
to build a home in honor of Pope Francis' Jubilee Year of Mercy, we are encouraging parishioners in every parish to:
Assist in helping to identify a family that may qualify for the house. Families have until 6/15 to contact Rebecca Glover at the Habitat office at: 627.5626, extension 105
to discuss their potential for qualifying. More information can be found at:
Attend the 'Wall Raising' (kind of like a ground breaking). Our Wall Raising is scheduled for Saturday, 6/11 at 1:00 p.m..
Father Wichert, the Dean of Pierce Deanery, will offer a blessing. Parishioners will be provided permanent markers with which to write prayers, messages,
well wishing, etc. on the house's framing materials.
Frame the House. In support of the Wall Raising, we will need 20/30 volunteers for that
Saturday to work on the house framing. To volunteer, call Tracey Sorenson at: 627.5626, extension 104
We hope to have representatives from each of the deanery parishes volunteering. The Pope's Jubilee house will be in TPC H4H's community called, 'The Woods' lot #218.
The street address is 1006 104th St E, Tacoma WA 98445.
We are still looking for volunteers that can do videography and assist with the social media to document the progress of the Jubilee House. Please contact Dan Fannin at: 253.229.7877 or [email protected].

RCIC
At this year’s Easter Vigil, the 18 participants of the RCIA for children (RCIC) program received baptism, first communion and confirmation. From September to May, these children, aged 7-17, gathered to learn more about the Catholic Church and to grow in their faith. heir involvement in the process along with the support of their families and sponsors was inspirational and helped to create a tight-knit faith community. Recently, they gathered for a picnic to celebrate the special event. Although the weather was cold, the group had a great time breaking bread together, playing soccer and just hanging out.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
We ended our atrium year with Pentecost celebra-tions. We each chose a gift of the Holy Spirit- one that would be of particular use to us in our everyday lives. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are:
Fear of the Lord, Fortitude,
Council, Piety, Knowledge,
Understanding and Wisdom.
Our atrium year was a most blessed one. Thank you, dear families, for the dedication you show by faithfully bringing your children to every session. Thank you, dear catechists, for preparing yourselves each week to present the gospel to the children and to pray with them.
We celebrated our beautiful atrium year with a community event on May 22nd. Elise Johns who has recently completed her level l formation, was commissioned by Deacon Bill. Following this beautiful ceremony we held our annual rock garden blessing and placement. A wonderful potluck concluded our end of the year celebration together. We look forward to atrium sessions beginning again in the fall of 2016.
This summer, we turn our attention to the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd catechist’s formation. Wynter Dait has been participating in formation this year through the Sheepfold Consortium and will continue this through the spring/early summer and into the fall. In the summer, formation leader Marty O’Bryan from Arizona will be instructing a group of us in level ll formation.
