Ensure that my student arrives between 7:30 am and 7:45 am. ● Try to avoid removing students from school during the school day as much as possible. ● Attend Orientation, Open Houses, Parent/Teacher Conferences. ● Support school staff in helping students develop a sense of respect and authority. ● Cooperate with school staff to improve my student’s academic and behavioral success. ● Follow visitor procedures by checking in at the main office before proceeding anywhere in the building during school hours. ● Return phone calls and forms in a timely manner (within 2 days). ● Read the Middle School Quarterly Newsletter and Communicator. ● Check the school website to learn information on upcoming events. ● Check PowerSchool regularly to make sure my student isn’t falling behind in classes. ● Check DOJO regularly to monitor my student’s behavior, class updates, and educational highlights. ● Check Schoology for additional academic resources. ● Teach and practice good health habits regarding personal hygiene, exercise and nutrition. ● Help my student develop alternative, peaceful methods of resolving conflicts. ● Impress upon my student not to bring disruptive, harmful, or illegal things to school. ● Understand and support school expectations and policies. ● Provide a quiet and well-lit place for study and supervise the completion of homework. ● Talk with my student about his/her school activities.
