Year 9 Parents’ Evening Wednesday 14 th June 2017 A reminder that the Year 9 Parents’ Evening will be held on Wednesday 14 th June from 3.45pm. Details of this event, including how to make online appointments, have been issued separately. Please be advised that in order to accommodate the wishes of parents for the Year 9 Parents’ Evening, the school will be closing at 2.45pm on Wednesday 14 th June 2017 (for students). Please be advised that parents who wish their child(ren) to remain at school beyond this time should contact the school via phone on extension 734 or email [email protected]and arrangements will be made. ‘The Cage’ – New Bike Storage Facility In order to encourage students to use our purpose built bike racks behind the Music School, adjacent to Bowen Drive, we have turned the facility into a secure cage. This will be available for use week beginning Monday 19 th June 2017. The Voice Kids! Look out for Chi Ennis McLean in ---------------- ----Year 8 who will be on the Voice Kids -----------------at 7.30pm on ITV this Saturday 10 th June 2016. On 24 th June, Juno Cox and Eithne Cox will also be on the Voice Kids. We wish them all well and the best of luck! SCHOOL NEWS Mock Elections – Labour Victory! Finally, after all the debating, defending of political positions and persuading the electorate to vote, the Mock Elections were finally here last Thursday. The turnout was very good with over 60% voting during lunchtime. Official results were as follows: Labour Party 64% Green Party 15% Liberal Democrat Party 6% UKIP 2% Conservative Party 10% Others 2% Void 1% E-Safety for Parents The NSPCC has published some useful information and resources on their website for parents and students, regarding safe use of social media and the sharing of personal information online. The resources also feature a short video that you may find useful which is available at https://www.nspcc.org.uk/preventing- abuse/keeping-children-safe/share-aware/ .
