NEW!Parc de la Chute-Montmorency now offers educational and recreational activities to children attending early childhood centres and all cycles of elementary and secondary schools. Through our activities, students will have the opportunity to enjoy captivating incursions in time and take an active part in history amid natural surroundings with exceptional panoramas. Our range of full-day or half-day programs are sure to meet your expectations. All our activities are in line with the Québec Education Program and Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur objectives. With a historical and environmental approach, youngsters will enjoy expressing their creativity as they participate in a creative and learning experience with our enthusiastic interpreter guides.

ZOO AND MYSTERY Hey, everyone! Did you know that Québec City’s first zoo was located at Parc de la Chute-Montmorency? In 1910, naughty elves from Île d’Orléans travelled through time to remove the animals from the zoo. They transformed the animals into objects that are now here with us in our times! Help the zoo keeper to find the animals and return them to the past.

THE SMALL THEATRE OF THE WHITE LADYDuring this theatrical activity, children can take part in the recreation of the Legend of the White Lady by playing the role of Montmorency falls historical figures. Who will play Louis Tessier, the White Lady’s ill-fated lover? Who will play the role of General Wolfe or the Amerindian? Children will have to adapt the legend to change the course of history and find a new fate for the heroes of this story. Will the White Lady remain broken-hearted?

APPRENTICE TIGHTROPE WALKERCome and recreate the feats of tightrope walkers Hardy and the Great Blondin on our Slackline course! One interpreter guide will talk about the life of famed Hardy and tell the story of the Great Blondin. Who crossed the Montmorency Falls on a steel wire after the first suspended bridge collapsed? Who crossed the Niagara Falls? Many exciting challenges await students!

Did you know about the tragic legend of the White Lady? The White Lady has travelled to the present using GPS technology to try and find her lover Louis Tessier. However, she needs your assistance! Help her to find traces of her beloved and embark on an adventure along this historical geocaching course!

MONTMORENCY ATTACKAhoy, Ahoy! Amerindians, French and English are cordially invited to participate in a re-enactment of the Montmorency battle, on July 31! Travel back in time to the summer of 1759 and impersonate your favourite characters along this educational tour. Muster enough courage and rise to the challenges of collecting Louis gold pieces and taking part in the final great battle. On your marks, get set, go!

Students are invited to imitate selfies of Frederick Haldimand on this photo rally. This man was the first resident of the Manoir some 200 years ago, so he has a great deal of experience in having his picture taken! Take part in this zany rally and discover the wonders of the sites. Which team will bring back the most pictures? Will they end up in your school yearbook?

YOUNG EXPLORERSGosh! A vandal has intruded on the site and caused some damage. The Park’s animals are not happy and want our help to find the culprit! MYSTERIES OF THE RIVERChildren will explore the river at the foot of the falls. Using a net, they will capture small creatures and examine their finds under a magnifying glass. THE DOUBLE ZIPLINEAnchored atop the cliff near the panoramic staircase, the Double Zipline lets two people cross simultaneously the 300-metre distance to the other side of the falls and land next to the nearby La Baronne belvedere. Head into the wind, feet dangling in mid-air – adrenaline rush guaranteed! The ride offers an exciting challenge and a different perspective of the full height of the falls and cliffs. Enjoy the breathtaking view!

VIA FERRATAThree Via Ferrata courses have been set up in the Boischâtel fault, near the falls. Accessible to all, a climb on a wall of rocks promises a striking view of the falls and Île d’Orléans.
Enjoy an exclusive experience with a professional guide! To ensure that the guide is close by during the activity, groups are very small and participants are tied to the guide with a safety tether.
