1. Have a valid, government-issued photo ID ready to present as proof of identity. 2. For the best results, it is preferred that you fast for at 8 – 12 hours prior to your exam. 3. Drink plenty of water to be well hydrated. 4. Take any prescribed medication on time. Inform your examiner of the name, dosage and frequency of use for each prescribed medication. 5. Avoid the use of any “over the counter” medication if possible. 6. Avoid strenuous physical activities (including vigorous exercise) for at least 24 hours prior to your exam. 7. Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages for at least 24 hours prior to your exam. 8. Do not consume any caffeinated products for at least one hour prior to your exam. 9. Do not smoke for at least one hour prior to your exam. 10. Limit salt intake and high cholesterol foods 24 hours prior to your exam. 11. Have your medical history available, including: any treatments or diagnoses and their dates; results of treatment; and the names, addresses and phone numbers of all physicians who performed any treatments within the past 10 years.
