The irrigation is defined as providing water which the plants need and cannot be supplied by natural raining to the plants in suitable time and by suitable method.
Sprinkler Irrigation
In Sprinkling Irrigation method, the irrigation water is carried to sprinkling heads in the pressured and covered pipes and then it is applied to the ground like natural raining. It can be applied at the over inclined, not flat areas and not deep ground through not causing erosion and can be applied as productively at the soil with high permeability or low holding water capacity.
Panplast Sprinkling Pipes are manufactured in accordance with TS 418-2 PrEN 12201-2 and TS 418-2 EN 12201-2 standards and ISO EN 9001:2000 Quality Management System; high density Polyethylene (HDPE) is used and it can be manufactured in 50-63-75-90-110-125-140 and 160 mm diameters and upon request in 5 or 6 meters length. Panplast Sprinkling Pipes and additional parts are two kinds as clamp and retched; it is durable against to sun shine, fracture and breaking.

It gives you information whether irrigation time comes or not and how much water you should give. It is suit-able to place one tensiometer for the plant whose root reaches 40 cm depth, to place two tensiometers for the plant whose root reaches 40-120 cm depth, three tensiometers whose root reaches over 120 cm depth.
Tensiometer is placed to an area in where plant roots are intensive. After determining the area where the ten-siometer will be placed in the field, the hole is drilled in desired depth through special hole digger. The stones which are bigger than bean are selected from extracted soil and taken into a plastic bag. Some water is added over them and it becomes intense soup. Then the soil – water mixture is flowed in the hole. The ceramic end of tensiometer is put into soil, sinked into mud, it is dip a few times so that the ceramic end contacts with soil well.
Then it is filled with extracted soil. The place of tensiometer is marked by a sign bar. It is suitable to place two tensiometer one in 30 cm depth other in 60 cm depth for the plant as sugar beet whose root reaches depth. At the commencing and stopping the irrigation the values that are read at shallow tensiometer are used. When the read value reaches to required value for commencing irrigation, then the irrigation is commenced. When the indicator of tensiometer begins to decrease, the irrigation is stopped. The read values for commencing ir-rigation are seen at the chart. If it is possible every morning, if it is not possible, the tensiometer values must be read and recorded once in a day. As much as drying the soil the read values are increased, as much as the soil is wet the read values are decreased. In time, there may be decrease at the water inside of tensiometer. The cover is loosening through holding pipe of tensiometer and to be filled the water from the tank into the pipe and then the cover is sealed again.
It is not the best way for the
highest production to make
applications based on guesses.
USING TENSIOMETER AT THE IRRIGATION

The points that to be consideredThere are many points that must be considered while using tensiome-ter. One of them, not to displace the tensi-ometer while adding missing water. If the contact of ceramic end is spoiled with the water, there may be fault at the reading values. Another point the po-res of ceramic end is closed in time or due to faulty use. The primarily reasons of stopping are the lime that is put into tensiometer and microorganisms that are develo-ping in the water. Adding a few drops eyestone solution into water prevents growing microorganisms in the wa-ter. But it is more difficult to prevent stopping due to lime in the water. Decreasing permeability of ceramic end ma-kes slow the reaction of tensiometer to humidity change.
At the case of leaving tensiometer with full of water in the open area, the vapor water from the ceramic cup le-aves residues. Those residues cause to stop pores. Not to cause such case, the tensiometer of which water is filled as to be placed in to the soil cannot be left in open area; if it will be left in open area it must be put into another cup full of water or the ceramic end must be covered with wet cloth. At the end of growing season, the tensiome-ters should be turned a bit right and a bit left then should be extracted from the wet soil vertically. The ceramic end of tensiometer that was extracted from the soil must be put into a cup full of water; when it is brought to home, it must be left in vinegar for one night and then it must be cleaned with boiled and cooled water and must be kept until the next season.
