What knowledge and skills should be acquired as part of the higher
education, to promote cooperation between the Poles and Lithuanians
discussion
IDEAReview existing programmes and make list of new
classes, specialization(s)/Master's Programmes,, teaching metohods, forms of education for information science professionals that would allow implementation of various projects/information cmapaigns/acitivities in information centers, libraries and archives.
The focus of those projects would be understanding and empowering cooperation between Poles and Lithuanians.
GOALWe should make ourselves aware of the fact that the cooperation between LT and PL is needed and ensure we understand why.
We should equip ourselves with knowledge about existing problems, about our respective cultures.
We should arm ourselves with skills that would help us achive that goal.
That knowledge will be used in our work as professionals in libraries, archives, information centers, organizations and anywhere else where it's needed.

Department of General Linguistics, East Asian Comparative Linguistics and Baltic Studies (language,
knowledge, conferences – LIS professionals about , joint classes?)

What can be done?

programmes)
What can be done?

What can be done?
Teach students about their neighbors' library network
- how it works, how it looks (the similarities, the differences)
- Is there legal deposit there? Give examples of good, interesing Lithuanian and
Polish libraries (respectively) – 'cause why not?- same as above: archives, information centers (and
other institutions we can think of)
Discussion points
