Workforce Prospects
San Jose 2007 Green Vision Initiative which would include the creation of 25,000 clean tech jobs by 2023.
By 2023 the number of direct and indirect jobs related to renewable energy and energy efficiency is expected to reach 40 million. With an expected growth rate of about 1.3 million jobs per year.
Policies that mandate cutting greenhouse-gas emissions, such as the state's landmark law known as AB 32, will require energy-efficiency improvements that will mean 403,000 new jobs, with a payroll of $48 billion and a contribution of $76 billion to the gross state product by 2020, according to David Roland-Holst.
