Taking Ease in the Nature of Mind An explanatory treatise on the meaning for transforming the trio of body, speech, and mind into three virtues called Jang-Chub Lam-Zang, The Excellent Path To Awakening. The great master Longchenpa wrote this text of very profound experiential instructions that contains all of the stages of practice, from beginning to end, in the progressive order they are cultivated. In particular, it contains instructions on the way in which the meaning is applied in formal meditation. There are three essential instructions: the first essential instruction is on how to train the mind [lo-jong] through bodhichitta, the four thoughts, and other trainings; the second essential instruction is on the practice of the development and completions stages of the Vajrayana; and the third essential instruction is the very profound advice on the practice of great perfection. It is this extraordinary text that will commemorate the first year for Pandey Norbu Shedra to be hosted by Katog Rit’hröd in Arkansas. To attend the entire three weeks it is a pre-requisite that you have either completed the ngondro practices or are actively accumulating them; or, you have been involved in Buddhist practice for many years and have done other forms of previous trainings. For those of you who are newer to practice, please come to the first week of the shedra for the first set of essential instructions, which is applicable to all levels of training (Oct. 1-9). I will give these teachings again in the future, and there will be an opportunity to receive the other two essential instructions at that time. There is definite purpose for this gradual approach. If you receive instructions before the appropriate time, not only will your mind not be able to benefit from the dharma, but in the future you will find yourself without the benefits of both the previous and later practices. Please keep this in mind. Those of you who are my students, I wish to guide you in the gradual manner according to the authentic presentation teachings. Of course, for those you whom the later two essential instructions apply, these are extremely important teachings. I want to encourage those of you who are able to put the effort into your practice to create a means to attend this profound teaching. Please endeavor to use as much diligence and forbearance as you can to be present and benefit. Taking Ease in the Nature of Mind

An explanatory treatise on the meaning for transforming the trio of body, speech, and mind into three virtues called Jang-Chub Lam-Zang,

The Excellent Path To Awakening.

The great master Longchenpa wrote this text of very profound experiential instructions that contains all of the stages of practice, from beginning to end, in the progressive order they are cultivated. In particular, it contains instructions on the way in which the meaning is

applied in formal meditation.

There are three essential instructions: the first essential instruction is on how to train the mind [lo-jong] through bodhichitta, the four thoughts, and other trainings; the second

essential instruction is on the practice of the development and completions stages of the Vajrayana; and the third essential instruction is the very profound advice on the practice of

great perfection. It is this extraordinary text that will commemorate the first year for Pandey Norbu Shedra to be hosted by Katog Rit’hröd in Arkansas.

To attend the entire three weeks it is a pre-requisite that you have either completed the ngondro practices or are actively accumulating them; or, you have been involved in

Buddhist practice for many years and have done other forms of previous trainings. For those of you who are newer to practice, please come to the first week of the shedra for the first set of essential instructions, which is applicable to all levels of training (Oct. 1-9). I

will give these teachings again in the future, and there will be an opportunity to receive the other two essential instructions at that time.

There is definite purpose for this gradual approach. If you receive instructions before the

appropriate time, not only will your mind not be able to benefit from the dharma, but in the future you will find yourself without the benefits of both the previous and later practices. Please keep this in mind. Those of you who are my students, I wish to guide you in the

gradual manner according to the authentic presentation teachings. Of course, for those you whom the later two essential instructions apply, these are extremely important teachings.

I want to encourage those of you who are able to put the effort into your practice to create a

means to attend this profound teaching. Please endeavor to use as much diligence and forbearance as you can to be present and benefit.
