Currently a Monday – Saturday commitment but students must be flexible. Schedules vary and classes may be morning, afternoon or evening. Full time commitment!

LVN-RN Step UpStudents enter in the third semester of the Generic Program. Number of available spaces varies – .

LVN–RN Step Up is not subject to the generic application procedure. There is a separate LVN-RN Application with preadmission requirements.

Test of Essential Academic Skills

(TEAS) Diagnostic test that covers Math, English, Reading & Science. The first score on the TEAS exam will be used for the application. Strongly recommend accessing resources on our website to prepare for the test.Applicants must have a minimum cumulative score of 62%. If below 62%, the TEAS exam can be repeated once after remediation than the second score is used for the application.You must have a Palomar College student ID to take the test.

Associate in Arts or Associate in Science

•Nursing Curriculum is identical. Students must declare a degree plan immediately after admission into the Nursing Program.•Both are transferable to four-year universities.

Legal Status Requirement

Clinical sites mandate that nursing students must be a legal resident.The BRN requires a SSN before graduates can sit for the NCLEX exam. Legal residents without a SSN can begin the Nursing Program but may not be accepted by a clinical site and therefore not be able to continue in the Nursing Program.
