1 Palm Coast Decorative Painters An Affiliate of the Society of Decorative Painters October 2016 Volume 13 Issue 10 OCTOBER LETTER FROM PRESIDENT JUDY BEUCHERT Please refer to my emails that went out in the past week. Jan Nichols OCTOBER LETTER FROM FIRST VICE PRESIDENT LANA RAYMOND I got a lot of great remarks about our class of the Flagler Pier with Pat Hitchcock. We were im- pressed with her professionalism, teaching ability and personality. Several said they hope we can have her teach again. Pat said she is interested in joining our Chapter! One of her students who attended the class joined our Chapter on Saturday. We’re growing. Everyone’s painting was beautiful. We’re running out of time to sign up for our October 1 st class to be taught by Lee Fasnacht. We will be painting glass candle votives with acrylic paint. All you have to do is buy two stem- less glasses (available at Ross and TJ Maxx) and come to the class. There is no prep and Lee will have all of the products. I had a lot of enthusiasm to have Stewart Maxcy teach our Chapter how to paint the sea and a turtle. He will be teaching the November 5 th class. Stewart requires a minimum of 10 to come to our location. The fee for this class is $30 ($35 for nonmembers) and this amount includes a 12 x 16 canvas, paints, and maybe brushes. This class will be done in acrylic paints. I will be out of town attending my older son’s wedding on October 1 st . I will be gone for ap- proximately three weeks. In my absence, please contact Jan Nichols, [email protected]to sign up for the October and November classes. Thank you Jan! Lana Raymond 1 st Vice President/Seminar Chair

OCTOBER LETTER FROM FIRST VICE PRESIDENT LANA RAYMOND
I got a lot of great remarks about our class of the Flagler Pier with Pat Hitchcock. We were im-
pressed with her professionalism, teaching ability and personality. Several said they hope we
can have her teach again. Pat said she is interested in joining our Chapter! One of her students
who attended the class joined our Chapter on Saturday. We’re growing. Everyone’s painting
was beautiful.
We’re running out of time to sign up for our October 1st class to be taught by Lee Fasnacht.
We will be painting glass candle votives with acrylic paint. All you have to do is buy two stem-
less glasses (available at Ross and TJ Maxx) and come to the class. There is no prep and Lee
will have all of the products.
I had a lot of enthusiasm to have Stewart Maxcy teach our Chapter how to paint the sea and a
turtle. He will be teaching the November 5th class. Stewart requires a minimum of 10 to come
to our location. The fee for this class is $30 ($35 for nonmembers) and this amount includes a
12 x 16 canvas, paints, and maybe brushes. This class will be done in acrylic paints.
I will be out of town attending my older son’s wedding on October 1st. I will be gone for ap-
proximately three weeks. In my absence, please contact Jan Nichols, [email protected]
to sign up for the October and November classes. Thank you Jan!

KIDS R FIRST It will be November before we know it. Just a reminder that last year the Guardian ad Litem folks said that we do NOT need to fill the boxes for the kids. The children advocates will choose a box for their particular child and fill with items appropriate for that child’s needs. That means that we do not need to unload the boxes and gifts from the storage unit and bring them to the Woman’s Club for pickup by GAL. We will be contacting them to meet us at the storage unit sometime in November to load everything in their vehicles – not on the day of our November class, but another day convenient for everyone. I will let you know when that day will be if you would like to come help move the boxes and gift items and to be there for our photo op. Just a reminder that if you bring gift items for the kids, it is greatly appreciated. We are up to 73 boxes. Please paint more boxes for the kids…we are only halfway to what we need! We will collect the boxes at the October and November workshops. Thanks for all of your help. Lana Raymond
