1 PAWA NEWS Quaid’s aniversary As Pakistanis all over world today celebrate the father of nation ’s anniversary the following excerpt from his speech in August 1947 is perhaps the best one to let the world know that the concept of enlightened moderation was always part of Pakistan’s existence. “If we want to make this great State ofPakistan happy and prosperous we should wholly and solely concentrate on the well-being of the people, and especially of the masses and the poor... you are free- you are free to go to your temples mosques or any other place of worship in this state ofPakistan. You may belong to any religion, caste or creed that has nothing to do with the business of the state... in due course of time Hindus will cease to be Hindus and Muslims will cease to Muslims- not in a religious sense for that is the personal faith of an individual- but in a political sense as citizens of one state” ,Address to the Constituent Assembly ofPakistan, Karachi August, 1947Post a message to the families of our soldiers. The messages are on their way and hopefully would have been received by the office of the Chief of Army Staff. Delegation from Pakistan The city of Perth hosted a delegation from Pakistan last week. Brother Abdul Rafaey from the Tayyaba mosque in Hyderi, North Nazimabad stayed at mosques in Rivervale, Mirabooka, Perth city and Rockingham where about 300 delegates attended the last day of Ijtema, The delegation is now based in RottiHill mosque in Sydney and will return to Pakistan on 16 th January, Insha Allah. Our next issue will now be in 2012 so a very happy new year to all and Merry Christmas to all friends and families. May the New Year bring happiness and peace to families all year through and onwards.
