APPLICATION

The ENI-FT600/600/200/RT6N1 inverter box supplies regulated frequency AC power for asynchronous traction motors. A single box features a gang of two inverters for controlling two asynchronous motors. Each inverter features a dedicated microprocessor controller supervised by the tramway onboard drive controller, and both communicate with each other via CAN and I/O contact.

SPECIFICATIONS

DESIGN

The inverter features a sealed powder-coated aluminium enclosure. The inverter enclosure top panel has a reflective aluminium shield which protects the inverter from solar radiation heat and serves as an access platform. Underneath the inverter are two ventilation ducts which house semiconductor component radiators. The inverter cable terminals are located in recesses. This enables flush mounting within a roof installation opening. The inverter box interior features two separate inverters for controlling two asynchronous motors. Both inverters feature a common LC input filter with a precharging circuit. The inverter box houses an input switch which can disconnect the inverter LC input filter from the tramway contact system, if required. Each inverter has a dedicated microprocessor controller, supervised by the onboard drive controller. .

OPERATION

The inverters convert the contact system DC voltage into regulated frequency and amplitude AC voltage. The inverters permit traction motor sense of rotation switchover (forward/reverse driving). The inverter control system is based on a vectoring algorithm, which is a simultaneous and indirect control of traction motor torque and rotor flux. The control algorithm deployment results in superior tractive performance over dynamic states and an optimised use of the inverter system. .

Drive inverter advantages: execution of all driving functions: start and braking (with priority resistive regeneration), coasting and braking in park, compliance with electrodynamic starting and braking parameters as defined in Regulation No. 344 of the Ministry of Infrastructure of 2 March 2011 concerning the technical requirements and essential outfitting of tramway and trolleybus vehicles, electrodynamic braking action to full vehicle stop, current monitoring of drive status and vehicle starting parameters on a CAN-connected control panel.

The inverters convert the kinetic energy of the braking vehicle into electric power. The power recovered from braking is used according to the following priorities: . returned to the contact system (if possible), discharged by the roof-mounted braking resistor when a preset recuperation voltage threshold is exceeded.

DESIGN

The converter is installed in a sealed and robust aluminium sheet enclosure which houses all its necessary equipment. The enclosure is preserved with a powder coat finish. .The cover facilitates service access to the converter interior. The cover has a reflective aluminium shield which protects the converter from solar radiation heat and facilitates device cooling. The enclosure size, the installation method and the electrical connections of the converter have been designed specifically for easy mounting in a dedicated installation bay. .

OPERATION

The ENI-PT600/24/AC/RT6N1 converter transforms the tramway contact system HV into: 24 V stabilised output for auxiliary and battery charging/floating lines,DC

stabilized three-phase AC voltage output for the AC ventilation and heating lines, stabilised three-phase AC voltage output to feed the compressor. In the emergency drive home mode for driving on an insulated line of the tramway contact system, the converter converts the 24 V battery output into stabilised 420 V for the traction inverters. APPLICATION

The ENI-PO1024/768 control panel is designed as a HMI for operating status visualisation, diagnostic procedures and data archiving of any road or rail vehicle. The control panel can be interfaced with a master controller or work in a standalone mode. Each application of the control panel requires a dedicated software to be developed, and any functionality can be deployed according to project requirements. This makes operation and maintenance with the panel extremely easy and intuitive. .The control panel can be installed anywhere inside the vehicle body (e.g. on the motorman's/driver's control desk). The control panel connectivity with interfaced devices is based on CAN bus. .

OPERATION

VisualisationThe control panel displays the CAN inputs (e.g. speed, temperature, voltage, etc.). The CAN bus parameters, data format and higher layer protocol are customised according to specific project design. The graphic layout is also customised. The graphical shapes displayed, e.g. indicators, icons and numeric readings are freely customized. .

Diagnostic functionsThe control panel features a diagnostic module. The diagnostic module archives error states of interfaced devices in a non-volatile memory module, and the data records stored therein can be downloaded as reports (in the CSV file format) via the USB port. The data archiving functionality can be integrated with a master controller which can command the operating panel to save event data, or executed automatically with an extra algorithm of the control panel software. .

The control panel bezel on the operator's side (front) is made of 5 mm thick black anodized aluminium sheet. The front bezel features the graphical display. The front bezel bottom part features four function buttons and the USB port for downloading archive and diagnostic data from the internal memory and firmware updates. .The back section of the control panel is a rectangular sheet metal enclosure with the following connectors: WAGO power and data spring-loaded connectors, USB and S1: diagnostic connection and service access connectors.
