(IREDA), a Government of India Enterprise. The MoU provides areas of cooperation between the two companies for working jointly on project to project basis in the Renewable Energy Sector. The MoU was signed by our Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. K. K. Kapila, and Managing Director of IREDA, Mr. Debashish Majumdar. Thus we took the first step towards diversification in this upcoming sector. The African continent in its developmental pursuits is generating enormous demands for infrastructure and 'appropriate', 'adaptable', and 'affordable' technologies, products and services. African countries are also recipients of major funding from multilateral and regional funding agencies as well as Government of India. A Conclave on “India - Africa nd th Project Partnerships 2005” was held from 2 to 4 March 2005 at New Delhi. Mr. Prashant Kapila and Mr. Saurabh Khanna represented ICT in this Conclave to explore the business opportunities. I hope you enjoyed holi, our festival of colors, fun and buoyancy. The nature has cast off winter's gloom and welcomed spring. With the onset of spring, the Gulmohar and Mango trees have begun to flower in glorious colors red, pink, orange, golden, yellow and green. Let us wish and hope that spring gets extended so that we do not have to face the scorching and sweltering heat of Delhi. Well if wishes were horses, beggars would be riders!! Our ICT Testing Laboratory, recently accredited by NABL, has been nominated as the Nodal Laboratory of NABL for conducting proficiency Testing programme on “Testing of Aggregates”. Under this programme, about 20 to 25 accredited / applicant Laboratories are expected to participate. Well, this is a great honor and speaks high of the quality work our Laboratory is performing. If it keeps up its quest for quality and continues to excel in performance, it may find itself nominated as Nodal Laboratory for International Testing Programmes as well. Our best wishes to ICT Testing Laboratory!! th The third Surveillance Audit of our Corporate office was held on 6 April 2005. DNV, our Certification Company, has launched a new and unique approach to auditing that takes account of risks to an organisation and focuses on the business objectives. Inspite of this new approach, we have done it again - NO non-conformity for the Sixth time in running!! Maintaining ourselves at that height is certainly going to be dizzy and will increase the gravitational force!! All the same, a big “thank you” to all the HODs and their teams for their excellent performance. Keep up the good work!! A “Centre for FIDIC Studies” has been set up to carryout training relating to FIDIC Conditions of Contract. Federation Internationale des Ingenieurs-Conseils (FIDIC), the premier international organisation for Consulting Engineers based in Switzerland, has entered into an Agreement with a Joint-Venture constituted of CEAI, CDC and ICT for this purpose. The Centre will initially carryout training activities in India, and will later extend its operations to cover the region of neighbouring countries as well. This is the first Centre of its kind set up in the Region, and will go a long way to promote proper understanding and application of FIDIC Condition in execution of infrastructural projects. ICT, in association with CEAI & CDC, has played an important role in setting up the “Centre for FIDIC Studies”. Happy reading, - Editor Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats Pvt. Ltd.
