“Christ is Risen. Alleluia! He has turned all our sunsets into dawns! Alleluia!” ... A hearty welcome to all who gather with us on this joyful Easter day. May this Easter joy be ever with you and your families, and in a special way with the many just received into the Church! ... The Easter season extends for fifty days to the celebration of Pentecost on June 8. It is all cele-brated as one ‘great Sunday’! Remember, we are Easter people! ... Mary Goulet, together with her daughters, both students at Saint John School, Portia in 6th Grade and Sterling in 8th Grade, received the Holy Oils on our behalf from Bishop Flores at the Diocesan Chrism Mass on Thursday (10), and presented them for our parish use at the Holy Thursday (17) Mass of the Lord’s Supper. You serve so well! ... Next Sunday (27), the Second Sunday of Easter, is observed as Sunday of Divine Mercy. A plenary indulgence (complete forgiveness of sins and punishment) is granted to the faithful who celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation, partici-pate in the Eucharist, and pray for the intentions of our Holy Father. These are all met by a recent Rec-onciliation, and by participating in Mass this com-ing Sunday (27)! Mercy! ... This coming Sunday (27), Pope Francis will celebrate the canonization of two popes who served in our own life times. Pope John XXIII was Pope from 1958 to 1963, and Pope John Paul II was Pope from 1978 until 2005. Saints in our midst! ... Considered Online Giving? No more checks and envelopes! Straight from your bank to ours! ... Our Altar Society Tailgate Swap Meet is this Saturday (26), from 7:00am to 2:00pm in the School parking lot. Reserve your space. Call Mary at 760 613-0999 or Michele at 760 846-1006! ... Belated congratulations to John and Yolanda Sueppel, who are ever with us, on their 63rd Wed-ding Anniversary on Monday (7). ... Here at Saint John, we are blessed with Adora-tion of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 24 hours, seven days a week, except during Sunday Masses. Come by and visit!

... This Saturday (26) is the 13th Anniversary of the death of Deacon Richard Corder, who joyfully served here at Saint John for many years. Dick preached at daily Mass, and put great joy into bap-tisms and funerals! His dear wife, Virginia, is ever with us. May he rest in peace. ...
