The Library was approved for Community Preservation funding to repair and re-habilitate the Historic Palladian and Casement Windows in the Carnegie part of the library. Once completed, all Palladian windows will be operable, screened and grated so that they can be left open safely. Work to begin either summer or fall. The Library was approved for Capital Outlay funding to replace the skylights that leak in the quiet study room, and most of the other windows in the library which had not been replaced within the last few years. This work will be scheduled within a few weeks. Thank you very much for your support and for your patience while we repair the facility . Page 2 News from the Staff Our dear friend and colleague Ann Donovan has decided to retire. We wish her well, and will welcome her with open arms when she stops by to visit. Thank you for your many years of hard work and dedication to the Sharon Community. Melissa Chase has accepted the position as Library Assistant. Please be sure to stop by and welcome Melissa. A small set back, but a big plan to move forward. We were handed a blow as the MBLC did not vote to approve our planning and design grant request. However, with strong encouragement from the MBLC to move forward with the feasibility study, and to apply for library construction funding, we will request that our matching funds approved at Town meeting, be re-appropriated for this purpose.
