It was Friday afternoon and as usual our Science lesson withMs Spitzer begun.

A phone started to ring – it was a really bad ring tone, everybody started to laugh. It was Ms Spitzer’s, she dashed and answered it in

a panic!

Ms Spitzer, what is …

… WHAT! ...… ok!

Right class we will continue this next week!

You can go home now … except …

You 4!

But Ms Spitzer! What have we done?

WE need YOUR help!

Here, choose a badge! This will

show which role you take on the mission!

Trade officer: Trading objects with other

cultures.Operations officer: Manipulates objects and performs physical tasks

Take this phone; it has been fitted with a special device, scan your badges

and you will be transported to your spaceship!

Little did we know how important this was going to be for our mission!

Communication officer: Communicating

with culture leaders.

Intelligence officer: gathers

relevant information.

We quickly chose our roles, as we scanned our badges, our roles were shown on the board, then disappeared!

As soon as we all boarded the shipa message appeared…

The Rockets ROARED … we found ourselves orbiting a strange planet … BLEEP … the computer made a sound then spoke to us

“… life forms found … Please Wait!”

… BLEEP … “Analysis shows the meteorite will destroy this planet in 4 days … identifying life form habitats” … processing …

… The Cogs …

… The Sprites …

… Please choose a

civilisation to visit!

…The Mechs…

We scanned our badges with the mobile phone and appeared on the planet’s surface.

Suddenly a life form appeared from the trees – it was a Sprite.

The Sprite ran up to us and prodded us – after he stopped and waited a bit, then looked puzzled.

Who should we visit 1st?

The Sprites seem a good

start!

We worried, but then looked at the rest of the Sprites were prodding each too, along with many strange things.

Our communications officer tried to speak to the Sprite, but it looked puzzled. It tried to speak to us, but all we heard was strange sounds like wind in the trees.

It pulled what looked like bark out of it’s pocket and tapped on it a few times … then a strange thing happened – a text appeared on our mobile!

Hello

Welcome!

Page 11: Page 1. It was Friday afternoon and as usual our Science lesson with Ms Spitzer begun. A phone started to ring – it was a really bad ring tone, everybody.

Page 11

We replied to the message, and the Sprite waved its handas if to say follow – so we did.

As we walked around

we were shown around

the village we found

what seemed to be food

stalls … we were

hungry so tried to buy

food!

Our trade officer tried to offer some money but it was refused….

… instead we had to copy the Sprite and prepare our own!

As we went past a beautiful lake with a strange glow, a green log rolled

down the bank…

… it hit the Sprite who was showing us around …

… he tapped on the bark and we received a text…

Page 12

We received a text message from the sprite on our mobile with the message

“Please help it’s my sisters birthday and I need to do these tasks”

… our Sprite friend passed us a list, the tasks seemed straight forward so we agreed to help.

We though we would collect stuff 1st, we tapped the list and 4 tools and a map appeared.

… we followed the map and started to collect strange fruits, there was a problem though…

… the fruit grew in a spiky bush, and the fruit turned to mush when we tried to gather it…

… we tapped on the bark again and it said we had to use the right coloured tool for the right fruit!

Page 13

We collected the food and thought the preening task would

be simple …

We had to pick bugs off

the Sprites sister!

Ergh!They eat them

too!

A message arrived on our phone, our last task was at the lake …

… the glow from the lake was brighter than earlier …

… as we approached we saw the lake was full of electric eels, we had to link pipes to that would suck the eels in to a tank.

We fitted the pipes together

lights in the village started to come on!

… it wasn’t!

The Sprite at the head of the table raised it’s goblet and thanked us for helping and asked us to join them.

This is where we need you the reader to help! We need a gadget that will destroy it, but remember the electric eels are the only power source! Draw and label one below/or on the back of this page.
